I’ve always enjoyed New West and considered it one of the best spots for wings in New Haven. We go there frequently, which is why this experience was especially disappointing.
Last week, I placed a to-go order that included wings, a sandwich, and fries. When my husband brought the food home, we realized the wings were incorrect. I called the restaurant and was told they were busy with several orders, but if my husband returned with the food, they would correct it.
My husband went back and politely asked if fresh fries could be made while the correct wings were being prepared so the food wouldn’t be cold. This was initially agreed to, but once the wings were finished, the fries were refused. While frustrating, we decided to move on and reconsider dining there in the future.
What truly crossed the line, however, was discovering afterward that an additional tip was added and charged to my husband’s card without his consent when he had already left a cash tip. This is completely unacceptable. Unauthorized charges especially tips are not okay under any circumstances.
This is important for others to be aware!!!! Times may be hard, but this was foul and should never happen.

Out of the dozens and dozens of places i’ve tried specifically in search of great wings, this place easily snatches the title for best wings in New Haven and how much you get for the price in today’s market is unmatched. If you haven’t had their wings, you’re missing out big time

Came to do trivia visiting from San Diego, CA. I gotta say what a good time! They have great food, greater drinks and impeccable service. Our server was Michelle and she was fantastic! We ordered the fish and chips and the turkey sub with fries. Both were delightful! We came in last place for trivia and got a consolation prize! Great times, good food, good people. Highly recommend for a casual night out for food and drinks!

That’s right ,! All Stars go up for this little place in New Haven. When I drove by I noticed it sitting on the corner. The prices are great. The food is exactly what you pay for. It’s delicious. You walk out feeling satisfied. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. And the bartender at the time was very courteous and helpful. I can’t wait to go back there again. Next time I will definitely take a picture. My suggestion would be if you’re around the neighborhood go in and have something to eat.

Kind of a shot in a beer place. Will you watch your baseball game or your football game? And then the way home you take home a cheeseburger and fries or wings. Great place for that friendly atmosphere. All walks of life go through there.

This is truly just a neighborhood bar. It has been around for many years and the regulars have been regulars for just as long. As for bar food it depends on the cook but they have some of the best bar food around. It’s great if you want to watch a game on TV and actually hear it. They have a dart team and trivia. They usually draw the college crowd which can get messy but overall it’s a cool bar with good beer.

Foreal amazing. Also, a really good steak and cheese! Great darts setup and good service…only reason I give it 4 stars is because it’s not fine dining, nonetheless, for a great food and service experience it’s a home run! Has been for years!

I came in looking to celebrate my 21st with my friends. Right off the bat the bartenders were rude and had nasty attitudes. They took our IDs and refused to service us because it supposedly wasn’t us in the picture. We are all legal and over the drinking age. A night out gone to waste because of miserable losers.
