Great food and great service. My husband had the Spicy Bates burger and said it might be the best burger he ever had. The kids had the breakfast burritos and both only finished half – they were huge! I had a build your own omelet with sausage, onions, jalapeños with salsa verde and sour cream on the side. It was cooked well and tasted delicious but a little on the small side for the price.
Definitely will be back next time we drive through to try more dishes!

Went back and had the buffalo chicken salad with grilled chicken! Yum!

Wow!! We really enjoyed the food and the portion sizes. I went on a Saturday as soon as they opened to place a to go order. The girl working the front was friendly and seemed happy to be at work. You don’t get that a lot anymore. We will definitely be back soon!

We visited this restaurant today when we were in Winchester for the Beer Cheese Festival. With the festival, the restaurant was pretty busy. The service was still very genuine and friendly. I liked the ambiance with the pup photos everywhere. The have two two seater tables at the front in the window. We were lucky to get one of those. With the Beer Cheese Festival it was a good people watching day. We both enjoyed our meal and I was a big fan of their fries. They gave us to go drinks without us even asking, which was appreciated. The only negative was that we received our food about 10minutes apart so my husband was half done with his food before I received my food.

This was my 3rd visit to Lucky Dog. The food has been very good every time. Today we both had the Lucky Choice Combo. It was 2 eggs, 2 meats, and your choice of the following: 2 pancakes, 1 Belgian waffle, biscuit and gravy or 2 wedges of French toast. It was very good! My husband is picky about sausage gravy, but he was very pleased with this. The only reason I didn’t rate Lucky Dog a 5 today is, the food was barely warm and the eggs were ordered over medium, but they were over done. We still had no problem eating them. However, they were very busy and had two waitresses. They were doing a good job though. Today was a little loud in there, but like I mentioned they were very busy. We will return to support local businesses for sure. One last comment, the coffee was very good!!

Driving through Kentucky on a return trip to Florida, we had the great fortune of happening upon the Lucky Dog Cafe where we were met with delicious food and a welcome fit for family. Chris, the owner, offered unmatched hospitality and served delicious, hearty homemade dishes. By the end of breakfast, we were already planning our next visit. If you live nearby or find yourself within 20 miles, do yourself a favor and stop in; you are sure to leave with a satisfied smile on your face.

Just sat in this restaurant for 30 min without even being acknowledged. Sign says “seat yourself.” We were passed by multiple times by multiple waitresses without even a: “we’re really busy, we’ll be with you soon.” Highly recommend some deep work on communication and customer service. Would recommend seeking a meal elsewhere.

This gem of a place is wonderful. Reminds me of a diner back home that I spent almost 20 years in. Makes me miss it even more. Very nice waitresses and the food is delicious!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stopped at Lucky Dog Café in Winchester on our way back from Red River Gorge, looking for a good mom-and-pop place — and it way exceeded our expectations.

The French toast was incredible — stuffed with cream cheese, blueberries, and strawberries, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. The Main Street Skillet was just as good, loaded with sausage, ham, and bacon, all topped with delicious gravy that tied everything together.

The staff was friendly, the food came out hot, and the whole place had that warm, small-town charm you can’t fake. Definitely one of those unexpected finds you end up talking about long after the trip. We’ll absolutely be back!
