this food is made with attention to every detail. we got tacos birrias. chips with two types of salsa were served to start. both salsas were unique and full of flavor. the tacos had crispy browning on the tortillas & perfectly caramelized roasted onion & pepper, alongside on the plate. the consumé was rich and not too salty. you’ll be in a great better mood after speaking the warm and enthusiastic people who run this great, cute & clean restaurant.

We order takeout at the la Flor de Mayo location on lakeshore drive on Sept 25. We had the Costilla de puerco and red sauce enchiladas. The enchiladas were burned and black on one side and completely oversalted. The Costilla de Puerco was also way too salty and we did not get the tortillas. We also had the tortilla chips with Salsa. The Salsa was diluted and tasteless and the chips were old and hard. They served everything on Styrofoam containers. This just looked good but we could not eat it and had to throw it out. Sorry but no bueno.

This is the new best Mexican restaurant in my opinion. Everything was fresh the meat was juicy and well flavored and dunking your taco in the mild salsa is over the top. Haven’t tasted great Mexican food like this since the Cactus grill closed.

La Flor de mayo has very authentic tasty Mexican food! We got the lengua tacos (which also came with bbq-ed onions and a jalapeño) and burrito mojado (wet burrito) which was AMAZING! They also have salsa roja and verde (red and green sauce) both really great and tasted freshly made. We came here a year ago and then came back today! Thanks for a great meal 🙂
