There’s a lot to like about Octane. I think it’s a great idea. I was driving by and decided to give it a try. I realize this is a completely automated concept and that it may not meet the standards of a shop with an actual barista, but I was willing to give it a go. You don’t know unless you try.
I needed to install the app before placing my order, and it was incredibly easy to get started. Within a couple of minutes I had an account set up and was able to order and pay. The entire ordering process was very smooth. I love the idea that the system uses geolocation to put your drink in the queue at the right time so it is at the proper temperature when you arrive.
Since I was already there, I pulled up to the kiosk and could see the progress of my order. I was briefly confused by some of the language and symbols on the kiosk, but I was lucky that the owner happened to be on site. He came over to chat, as I was the only one there, and confirmed my understanding. Thanks Adrian.
When the kiosk indicated my drink was ready, I pulled up to the small building. There are a few essentials available before the beverage window, including trays, stoppers, and straws for anyone who needs them. At the window, a camera reads the QR code from your phone. A small door opens and your drink appears. Each cup is printed with the specific recipe, which is a nice touch.
My issue was with the actual drink, a chai latte. It was nicely made. The foam was good, although the texture the drink could have been more “frothy”. The temperature was right, and the flavor was mostly there. The problem for me was the sweetness. It was too sweet. I also wondered if the chai mix or concentrate contains an artificial sweetener. I am sensitive to those, and it seemed possible.
It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into this concept. Aside from the drink itself, which is of course the whole point, the experience was essentially flawless. Other customers with different preferences may find it to be a great fit.
If I came back again, I would probably try the matcha tea latte.
PS – after responding to the follow message for my order, and giving a less than perfect rating, I was immediately contacted with a text message. I was able to provide some of this feedback directly. I thought that was a very proactive thing. Speaks a lot to their interest in understanding any gaps or misses.

I really wanted to love this coffee option as I try to support local businesses and I’m a coffee aficionado. First I have to say what a brilliant concept. Everything about it was great (easy app download, getting your coffee from the window with a QR code, customization of the cup etc). The coffees however (vanilla latte and chocolate chip mocha) were lukewarm at best, and were wayyyy too sweet. If I were to order again I’d know to customize it less sweet and hope I get my coffee right after it’s prepared so it’s hot. Had to bring the coffees home to heat up. But kudos to the engineering of this, wish you much success!!!

We had the best experience! My daughter and I had a little date and wanted to try it! We ordered two refreshers, the app was so easy to order and scan to receive our order. During the excitement we met Chuck, who was working inside and offered us a tour to watch the robots. My daughter has been talking about meeting Elsa, Winney and Lidia to everyone she can for the last few days!
Definitely will be going back!

I’ve never been disappointed with Octane! The service is always quick and easy, and I love not having to make small talk. It really feels like the coffee shop of the future — no tipping, no chatting, just fast, amazing service. The seasonal drinks are always fun to try, and they have something for everyone: cold brew, chai, boosters, and even kid-friendly options!

Super fast and efficient. I love to order on the app with ease and then simply drive there, scan the QR code and a door opens to grab my delicious and gourmet coffee. You can even ask for a certain height door depending on what car you drive. I have gotten my morning coffee here several times now and it never takes more than a minute.

Great coffee and quick service! Downloading the app is incredibly quick with onboarding taking all of 2 minutes. I really enjoy being able to order my drink from the gym or before I leave my house and being able to pull up, grab my drink, and go knowing that my drink is fresh and consistent no matter what!

It’s an automated coffee shop that uses local products. Super easy to use. Do it all on the app. There’s an option for a high window or lower one. I drive a truck so I liked that was thought of. Also very delicious coffee. I’ll be back for sure to try other items.

A consistently excellent experience ordering, picking up, and consuming fresh hot coffee from Octane! We ordered from a nearby store and by the time we arrived at the welcome kiosk, my name was displayed along with a progress bar indicating the status of our order. Green status indicated the order was ready, and our products were clearly labeled, the coffee was the perfect temperature for drinking on the move, and flavor was excellent. We will be back for the speed, convenience, and overall value of Octane Coffee!
