Great food! Their menu includes many items you cannot find in other Mexican restaurants in the Sarasota Manatee area.

Just don’t come expecting to be served quickly. And make everything from scratch and you just need to be patient, particularly if you arrive during a busy time.

P. S. With regard to the gentleman who left a one-star review. They may not have been serving burritos that day. . They have a limited menu and it varies from time to time. Perhaps you misunderstood her “no.”

I love Mexican food, and I can honestly say, Armando’s has the best Mexican food in Sarasota. Casa Masa is a close second. I think the food must be prepared to order because you have to wait a little while for it to be served, but the wait is worth it. The flavors are superb. Don’t be turned off if you go there in the evening when the place might be rather empty. They do take out, and maybe their lunch crowd makes up for the evening meal. It helps if you speak some Spanish because some of the wait staff are not bilingual. Their extensive menu has pictures that you can point to if necessary. Highly recommended!

I tried to place an order to go and the lady (who answered in english) proceeded to tell me “no english”. I then tried to order in spanish and she told me “no” when i asked for a burrito. I can only make the assumption that this is because she knew I wasnt spanish based on the way I tried to order at first. I was polite about it all but I will never eat here based on the customer service. I cant imagine why she wouldnt take my order in spanish when she clearly speaks spanish other than the fact that (im guessing) she didnt want to serve a white guy… extremely terrible business practice and they’ve lost a customer for life. I eat Mexican food quite often and there are too many other options in the area for you to be treating someone like that. To be honest, Im not sure how you are still in business with that kind of customer service. I will gladly take my business to the “Fire Tacos” food truck on cattlemen rd or “Tacos el costeño” on Tuttle where they have great food and great customer service.

Good was prepared well, although that breaded chicken was among the thinnest I’ve seen. It tasted good. Their corn tortillas were great.
Priced on the higher side compared to other similar restaurants. But what bothered me was the no water policy. I just wanted a glass water and they couldn’t serve it.
And about that serving of chips and salsa – I understand that some restaurants do not provide free chips, that’s fine, but that serving ended up being $6. It was too high.

This is the difference between “mexican” and “Authentic Mexican”. Everything is homemade, cooked to order and delicious so be willing to wait for it. You won’t regret it. Amazing!!

This is the best food I’ve had in Sarasota now. Very good and very authentic. There are a lot of little ingredients that they add for freshness and taste that most other restaurants cut corners on. Highly recommended.

Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Very high priced and food wasn’t that great……no free chips and salsa, got a small taco with nothing on it but chicken and a few onions, 2 16 oz bottled sprites(4.25 a piece) and then chips and salsa and my bill was $19.26. chips were dry. Place had a gummy smell as well. Needless to say I won’t be back.

the food was great. i got a chicken enchilada w the green sauce on the side (was a little too spicy for me but they replaced it with red sauce quickly after i asked) the tortilla was a little hard to cut through on the bottom but all was well anyway. i also tried some of my sisters chicken fajitas which was also delicious, loved the flavor on the chicken! good service, very kind, took a little long to get food but worth it considering it is all made fresh
