Reviews
1. No one is there to greet you, not welcoming at all.
2. Have to order at a kiosk, and the kiosk asked if you wanted to leave a tip.
3. I bought vegetarian chillie, had no seasoning, watered down, and the beans were just sitting in the bottom of the bowl, paid $14.
4. Had vegan mash potatoes, gravy was watery, full of salt to a point where it wasn’t edible, paid $5.
5. They placed your food in a pickup door from their side, and then you pull the metal door open from your side to get your food.
6. The had a sign that said no refunds .
So now, I have $20 worth that I can’t eat.
On top of all of this, I received the food in a busted bag.
The pictures of the chillie is after it had been sitting in the refrigerator overnight… Just terrible!!!
0 out of 10, do not recommend…
Staff was so polite and helpful. Explained the menu and gave me a great recommendation for the vegan options!
Will definitely recommend vegan & none vegan menu.
Food was delicious, our plate could’ve fed three people! Great food, great prices. Love it.
This Black-owned establishment immediately caught my attention with its inviting decor, eye catching menu, and intimate, soulful vibe. You could feel the love in the space from the look and layout to the energy inside. One of the standout moments for me was when the owner personally stepped out from behind the cashier’s window to greet each guest and hand deliver orders a rare and genuine touch that made everyone feel seen and appreciated.
I was especially curious about the Cornish hen dinner, and I have to say, it was cooked to absolute perfection tender, flavorful, and satisfying. The sides were solid as well, and everything came out hot and fresh. I also tried one of their vegan burgers (which I originally got for someone else, but ended up eating myself), and I was so impressed that they used real vegan cheese. That’s a detail many places overlook, and as someone who is lactose intolerant, I appreciated it deeply.
Now, about the tea I’ll be honest, it wasn’t quite my thing. It was a little too sweet for my taste, giving more of a Kool-Aid feel than a traditional herbal vibe. But again, that’s personal preference and doesn’t take away from the overall quality and experience I had.
I left feeling proud, impressed, and hopeful for this business. It’s clear that Spice Queen was created with passion, intention, and community in mind. I will absolutely be back, and I’ll be spreading the word. Wishing them decades of success!
This spot checks all the boxes, portion size for money – check. No pretty food with big food prices! All appetite friendly and FLAVORFUL!!! From the greens to the mac & cheese, to the salmon corquettes, to the cornbread dressing. Not one dish will steer you wrong. Chicken, fish, pork chops, Cornish hens, or the vegan specialities. A family favorite is the Soul Rolls- an eggroll with greens, mac & cheese, and candied yams. The Cornish hens is absolutely delicious! Gumbo Greens is another winner on the list. The other fabulous addition is the own will add a new dish to the menu every so often.
Do not slide past the drinks or peach cobbler!
