We drove 320 miles round-trip for the burger in the photo. I’m a loyal customer. lol! For months,while doing post-fire tree assessments, I had a burger just like this one every single day for lunch. After the Camp Fire devastation, the restaurants were all incinerated so Magalia resident Janice Thrash cashed in her retirement savings and opened The Patty Wagon that fed locals, firefighters, and the cleanup folks. Good food, fast as good food took, and after my first order, cheeseburger, mayo, and pickles only, I never had to ask again – including this past weekend. Cheeseburger mayo & pickle,s and a patty for Remy. I had a chili cheese dog and cheese fries. I called to make certain they were open because of the weather and they offered to stay until I could get there from 20 minutes away. It was a slow day so I appreciate that they stuck around. The cheese fries are the best I have had and I try them everywhere I see them on a menu. The chili dogs are quite lovely. The chili has good flavor. I moved an hour away but I still think of their food when I want cheese fries or a chili dog. The whole menu looks good. I do plan to visit next time I’m close enough. I want to try the cheese fries with jalapenos added next time. I did get to take a bite of the loaded fries and those are also worth getting. They do not skimp on toppings. Great amount of food for the price.

Janice makes the best jalapenjo cheesesteak ever and I lived near Pats and Gino’s in Philly. I don’t eat steak sandos very often, but if I do I order it with garlic fries. Vampyres beware. The garlic is fresh and abundant. My husband is in love with her burgers. Anytime he wants a burger in town, we always go to the Patty Wagon.
