Welcome to Buena Vista Mexican Restaurant! We are a family-owned and operated business since 2010. Our first location was opened in Frazier, PA and has now expanded in Ardmore, Wayne, Malvern, Exton, and Philadelphia. Our owned and Chef, Jorge Martinez, puts all his love in each dish that he creates. We use family recipes from Southern Michoacán, Mexico, along with some of his creations. We are known for our Cream of Crab Soup, Chipotle Sauce, Mole Sauce, Guacamole and Chipotle Chicken. We are family friendly, BYOB (except Ardmore and South St.) and with outdoor seating (Spring Garden and South St. coming soon!) We hope to see you soon! Good music and atmosphere. The food is delicious! There is something for everyone even the pickiest eaters. I got birria tacos and they were very flavorful. Seriously good. Came with beans and rice-also delicious! Staff is very friendly and attentive. 10/10

Had the flautas and chicharrones. Everything tasty. Very good, just not amazing. Everything is expensive these days and it’s typical for restaurants to add 2.50 if you’re using credit card. What can you do. Tip was not automatic, unlike what someone else said. But it was VERY cold by the stairs because there’s an INSANE draft coming from a hole in the ceiling that they won’t patch. I went to Buena Vista for the first time this weekend and I can’t wait to go back. I sat at the bar and had a couple La Flacas (their skinny marg) – the drinks were great, service was even better, and it’s just an overall great vibe in there. Also doesn’t hurt they are located in the best neighborhood in Philly, IMO. I will be back to try their food!

The food is always delicious and the margaritas are well balanced and worth it. I’ve been coming here for two years and I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad meal. The authentic Mexican tiles and decor really bring the ambience, the staff is always so nice and friendly, and with their new happy hour options, it’s a great local spot to come decompress and wind down after a long and busy day/week!

I’ve been wanting to check this place out recently, and finally got to tonight for their superbowl party. Everyone that worked there looked like they were hustling and were very polite, but they seemed extremely overwhelmed and understaffed, despite the place being mostly empty. I think at the peak it may have reached a third of the tables being occupied. Yet we were waiting as if it was packed shoulder to shoulder. which is really odd since they required an RSVP, had a DJ, and they were playing the superbowl on TV so like… why didn’t they expect people and plan accordingly???
We had to wait about 30 min between rounds of the waitress visiting our table. It got to the point where I considered going straight to the bar, but they looked just as overwhelmed.
Then when we went to pay and we were charged full price for everything and told that the specials we specifically ordered around ended at 6pm. Even though the specials were specifically advertised for the superbowl party, and the game started at that time??? Either the staff didn’t know their own specials or the place was intending to deceive people with their flyers.
I never even got my food after an hour and a half of waiting, I had to leave without trying it.
I am giving this place the benefit of the doubt in that some major planning for the superbowl went awry. I plan on trying again on a normal day because, and only because, their margaritas were top notch. I will update my review when I do, but so far, it’s going to take some major convincing to return to this place. The instagram influencers really had me fooled.

We ordered drinks and food. Passion fruit margarita was a great size and delicious/well balanced (salt rim), and the michelada was also really good according to the partner.
Ordered the camarones al cilantro (shrimp) and it was so good and perfectly cooked! Came with delicious beans, rice and a pico de gallo/chimole salad.
We’ve been trying to find a solid Mexican spot with some more authentic cuisine / more than tacos in the Philly area and this spot definitely hit all the notes for us!
The space is a bit smaller than expected but there is quite a bit of seating still and large bar! The servers are friendly & attentive and the food came quickly.

The fried plantains were good. I’d get them again. My shrimp tacos were supposed to be grilled but came out batter fried. Fine. But some were overcooked and rubbery. My wife got the chicken enchiladas and tacos plate. Honestly the chicken was a bit tough. Overall I thought the flavors were good. Place had a nice decor and was clean.
Not our favorite for Mexican cuisine. Might give it another shot after some time has passed.

My friends and I came here for a girls day out and it was a great experience! Jessie and Vansanth took great care of us. I order a steak platter and a Cadillac margarita, both were amazing! I would definitely come back. Great service, great food, great spot for an occasion!
