Food here is delicious. Like it really is. Not sure how service is usually here because it’s the first visit but today it was just one lady and what seemed her young daughter helping her out on the floor. We did arrive as a group of 5. And 2 hours before closing. Another table arrived about 10mins after us and they were weighed on 1st. That’s why the 4 stars and not 5. So it was slightly slow but a round of applause for the lady she was taking walk-in orders, phone orders, and tables all on her own. I will definitely return. Like I said EVERY THING ORDERED WAS DELICIOUS..

I ordered mofongo with pork from San Juan Café in New City, and it was honestly very disappointing. There was no pork at all — just a big, dry blob of green plantains. No lettuce, no tomato, no garnish, nothing on the side. It looked and tasted plain, like mashed plantains with zero flavor or effort. For the price, I expected something much better and actually complete. Definitely not worth ordering again

Excellent service! The price it’s worth the portion size. I ordered pork chop with tostones and alcapurria. The pork chop was so delicious crispy out and tender inside, but the tostones were amazing, not dry and the mojito sauce it’s a hit too. I was surprised with the alcapurria, it’s not the traditional version; overall I definitely will be back to try more foods.

The food is always freshly made with a short wait time. The taste is very authentic and richly flavored. The staff works hard to make your visit the best it t can be. The atmosphere is simple.

Been going here for years , the food is absolutely fresh & delicious with large portions. And the prices are great , even in this economy they haven’t jacked the prices up like everywhere else 10/10

This place has the best chicken stew. The chicken falls right off the bone and is the most delicious we’ve ever had. We love coming here.

I read the reviews before coming here and they were mainly positive with some mixed but I took a chance. If you’re going to have a restaurant named “San Juan” it has to be good and close as to as authentic as possible. Well I went with one of my friends whom native island is San Juan and they were not disappointed. They ordered the pork chop and I had (presented in the photo) is the salmon with coconut sauce! Omg it was so good! It was a thick salmon and the sauce did not disappoint. The rice and beans were on point too. The avocado salad and tostones (large) was soooo delicious! I definitely enjoy my time here. This place does not have any drinks if you plan to have a night out drinking with friends. Luckily, we weren’t planning on that. Nice quaint spot, I’d most likely visit again!

The food is discustinggg. Ordered rice had no taste shoulder pork so gross. Alcapurias I had no idea what that was. So sad they use the name San Juan to give u an impression of Puerto Rican food. I am not sure but that was not Puertorican food.

Zero stars is what this place deserves. Not authentic, not good, not clean, not even close to resembling ANYTHING like Puerto Rican food. The “pastel” looked like dog food. Please do not come here if you want Puerto Rican food.
