I’ve been going to Harry’s in La Jolla my whole adult life since moving to San Diego. Over 18 years always very friendly great service we came in to Del Mar and it was not that busy. We sat at the bar it took 5 mins and ME asking for menus and a water (the server was in front of us the whole time making back to back espresso drinks) we already knew what we wanted because I know the menu like the back of my hand. The server behind the bar continued to make espresso coffee drinks 3 or 4 before taking a drink order. I had to tell her we are ready after I pushed the menus way to the side to give her a cue. I worked as a server all in college the first thing you do is offer water, give menus and take a drink order. Never have this experience in all the years at LJ location. This employee needs to be retrained on service standards. On top of that we asked for extra crispy hash browns and they came out not crispy at all /lightly cooked. (That could have been the server or the kitchen error) Overall horrible and disappointing experience for what I’ve experienced so many years in LJ. I also do not really review places but this was so sub standard Harry’s experience that I wanted to let the community know stick with LJ

UPDATE: so they brought our undercooked hasbrowns back and returned them visually burnt. I took one bite and sent them back ( we normally don’t do that/ wish I took a photo) she comped them and a coffee. Overall stick with LJ the staff and kitchen are dialed there. Del Mar needs some serious service and standards training.

Great service and atmosphere. The chilaquiles were so good I will order them next time. The raspberry Bellini was also very flavorful.

Cute place in Del Mar for coffee and breakfast/lunch.
We sat outside and enjoyed the view and weather.
Breakfast was ok, it was tasty but more like diner food. The hash browns are like a brick.
I wish the Greek omelette had the feta on the inside and not just sprinkled on top

I am writing this review before we even left because we love it so much! DELICIOUS BREAKFAST! The carne asada burrito was amazing! The staff is soooo kind and lovely, they spoiled the heck out of my 4 year old! We will be back everytime we are in Del Mar from Seattle!

Harry’s along main street is a Del Mar breakfast institution. Harry’s has indoor and outdoor dining, we enjoyed breakfast along the walk. Good food, coffee, and an enjoyable experience.

What a great experience! My husband and I stopped in here for the first time tonight and were drawn to the atmosphere. The shop had such a great vibe. We loved the high top table and checkered floors! The bar was so vintage and the owner was so accommodating and kind. Definitely great service! We enjoyed a jalapeño margarita, and Aperol Spritz, and capped our night with a cappuccino and honey cinnamon latte. All of the drinks were really good! Great jalapeño taste in the margarita and the latte was the perfect amount of sweet. Good ending to our night and we are excited to try their brunch menu!

Checked out this old American-style brunch spot tucked inside what looks like a European building. We sat outdoors, but the inside had that classic diner vibe, think cozy booths, retro touches, and lowkey nostalgia.

Food wise, the egg omelette was solid. Perfectly cooked and paired with hash browns that nailed the crispy on the outside, soft on the inside combo. The pancake on the side was basic but good nothing fancy, just hits the spot.

The veggie burrito, though? Way too salty. Like, slow down on the seasoning kind of salty. Avocado toast was forgettable too definitely needs a remix.

Drinks were a mixed bag: horchata was actually really good (would get again), but the matcha latte was just meh. Nothing bad, just didn’t deliver.

Overall, a chill place for a classic brunch with decent portions and nice vibes. Just don’t go in expecting culinary fireworks, and maybe skip the burrito.

Great place for a delicious breakfast while sitting outside enjoying the sun. The staff is super friendly and attentive and the food was amazing. The eggs, hash browns, corned beef hash and homemade salsa were perfect. Be sure to order an Irish coffee you’ll love it!
