Southside is an ice cream shop and deli situated at the south end of Peabody’s historic district. It is located in what is known as the Peabody Bank Building. Built in 1884, over the years it housed several banks, a bar, and an antique store. The building’s first floor has been completely restored to its original beauty. Including a wooden parquet ceiling, porcelain hex tile, and wooden flooring. Southside carries 24 flavors of Ashby’s hard scoop ice cream and 2 flavors of soft serve. Traditional deli sandwiches are on the menu such as a Reuben or a Club plus some of our own creations, a Hawaiian, and a local favorite, a Turkey Red. Our pastry cabinet is loaded with cookies. Local favorite is our Monster Cookie. 101 N. Walnut, Peabody, KS.

This place is incredible! You can’t beat Peabody’s beautiful 1880s downtown. The limestone corner-entry building has been painstakingly and lovingly restored. The ice cream and sandwiches are an amazing icing on a beautiful cake! We are so lucky to have this gem in Peabody! Ann is the BEST!
