Another addition to of the list of places to eat! We were poking around and found the Cast Iron Grill in Sand Lake and we had a treat. The whiskey barbecue burger was exceptional, cooked perfect, 1/2 pound of excellent beef. And we saved room for the pie, glad we did! The turtle pie was delicious. Decor was great, clean and we had a super nice waitress. We will return.

If you want to support a family business with great food and amazing dessert this is the place to be !!! These people are so good to me as a single mama idk where id be without them. They let me bring my baby girl to work and love her like family. They are generous in their community and always going above and beyond to make the best experience for their customers. Fresh pie all the time !!! The best Reubens jalapeño poppers chili etc etc Try them out you won’t regret it !!

A smaller restaurant but had good vibes with the fact that we had a hard time finding a parking spot. The food was absolutely the best. I love a good Reuben sandwich if it is done correctly, they did it perfect. The meat had great flavor, no chunks of fat hidden in the sandwich, enough sauerkraut for flavor but not over whelming and then typed with a perfect cheese. The other menu items we tried were equally as good. Worth the 10-15 minute drive from Tawas.

A cozy, hometown feel with a simple but varied food menu sure to please any appetite. The owners are very cool and easy to talk to and are putting a good effort into making it a quality, year long place to visit. Amazing draft beer list with lots of Michigan breweries on tap.

Don’t pass by Sand or Indian Lake without stopping in!

Food was fabulous!! The special of the day, chicken tortilla soup and the Reuben was unbeatable. Turtle pie was the best pie I have ever had. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Check the Facebook page with daily specials and info.

Small diner with a very “local” feel. Seating for 35-40 people, dining area has a ‘large family cabin’ ambiance. Very nice decor the high tables are very comfortable to sit at. Their dessert pies must be all the rave, nobody left without ordering a slice and we seen multiple take out orders near close time getting only slices of pie! So we ordered our slices to go, I’ll update when I wake from the sugar coma! We will eat here again! Thanks for a great experience!

Went there 11/6/25 with our local Thursday dinner crew of 11 of us. Dinners were very good, (I had the chicken, cheese philly, great!) service was top notch! We sat in newly opened bar area (nice) and this was just a perfect evening! We’ll go back.

My children and I all ordered burgers well done. When we got them, they were pink. We ate them anyways, did not complain. I drank a ice tea, my daughter had a water and my son drank a lemonade. Then each got a piece of pie to go.
My son got the turtle pie, sadly, when he tasted it, it appeared to be made with rotten milk tasted spoiled. My daughter got the chocolate raspberry, not impressed chocolate pudding with raspberry pie topping over it was tasty but not worth the price. I got the white chocolate pecan it was a much larger piece than the other two and quite tasty. Our bill was $75 for lunch, I personally feel it’s overpriced for the quality of food we received.

One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. Every thing tasted like it was made from scratch. They even had three types of hot sauce on each table, really wished I lived nearby to eat here everyday but stopped by while vacationing in the area. The staff was super friendly even as we came in as a 7 top, taking the last table during their breakfast rush. You gotta stop here if you’re in the area
