The Mother Clucker was crispy, thick, and fresh. It was delicious. Loved the provel cheese sauce and the pepper jelly. The addition of the Red Hot Riplet chips was the crunch and flavor profile needed to bring it all together. Great flavors! The cons: price. $14 for just the sandwich was on the pricey side in my opinion.
The Poutine was phenomenal. I chose the chicken gravy over the mushroom gravy. The fries were extremely crispy yet still soft in the center. The fries stayed mostly crispy even under the chicken gravy and the gooey provel cheese sauce. The combination of the fries, gravy, and cheese topped with their crispy fried chicken chunks made for pure food magic!
The cons: none. At $10, I found it to be a good-sized portion at a very reasonable price. It was delicious!
Side note: the restaurant and restrooms were clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
All in all, our experience was excellent! I would definitely recommend trying out this restaurant.
The fries were crispy, golden, crunchy, and absolutely amazing.
The chicken bites weren’t really my cup of tea, but my friend’s sandwich was a hit. She was raving about it.
♀️ For big groups, seating can be a bit of a squeeze, there’s basically just one table for a larger group. We had to shove two together and ended up a little snug.
Still, if you’re a chicken fan, this place is definitely a must try!
Second visit was far more enjoyable than the first. Fried chicken is what they do and they do it pretty darn well.
I had lunch with a coworker recently and we were having trouble deciding what to get until the waiter offered to split a couple of things for us. Consequently, we wound up with a half-chicken and a Mother Clucker sandwich.
Half chicken is a half chicken is a half chicken…except when it sucks. Fortunately, the one they served us didn’t suck. It was actually the opposite of suck. Hot, juicy, flavorful, crispy – all at once. Sure it’s not as spicy as some would like but you can fix that with stuff sitting on the table. I was really impressed. I thought it would be my favorite between the two. It wasn’t.
My initial impression of the sandwich came from reading some of the Yelp reviews. People generally have a favorable opinion of it but it still struck me as a bit gimmicky. After eating it my opinion has changed. Yes, it’s a slightly weird combination but it works really well. It is simultaneously sweet, spicy, gooey and crunchy. Timing must be everything for putting this one together and getting it to the customer. I can’t imagine it working very well as a carry-out item.
Nugz – not sure what part of the chicken they are from but they’re delicious. I may need to do some additional research to get to the bottom of that menu offering.
I have to say the restaurant is in a great location with a cool bar behind it. If you’re looking for some late night food, this might be the spot for you.
The Chicken Parm was really good, I would have to say it’s a recommendation and I would also recommend the Mother Clucker. I was excited about the Mac & Cheese, but that was a bit of a disappointment.
For you gluten free eaters out there, I feel like it’s important to note that this fried chicken restaurant actually has a dedicated fryer separate from their floured foods, which could allow you the opportunity to eat.
