It’s a treat to find a decent Mexican restaurant in Big Piney. Food was very good. I had the “special”, carne asada burrito for a dollar off. My buddy had the veggie burrito, said it was the best he’s had.
It’s pricey. Most items over $20. The portion of chips brought with salsa was the smallest I’ve seen for two people. My buddy asked for a refill and they charged almost three bucks. Most burritos don’t come with beans and rice. His did, mine didn’t. This is shown correctly on the menu, but should be included. Extra charge for debit cards. This has become all too common.
Salsa is mild and plain. If you want some heat it’s Tapatio or Cholula from a bottle.

The food was quite good. Portions are small for the prices. Oh, and on prices, the ones shown on the menu aren’t actually what you get charged. And they act really weird when you want to see what you are charged before actually paying. Service was very lacking which is odd based on what I’ve experienced in small towns. Usually they are thrilled to get the business and treat you like gold. Definitely not the case here. Don’t plan to go back.

The local bartender said this place had the best lunch in town so I tried it. I haven’t had lunch anywhere else in Big Piney, but it was good. Portions were generous, prices were more than reasonable, and the waitress was unflappable even when I spilled half a bowl of salsa on my table. The burrito especial is highly recommended, but I wish they had a junior version (not for the money, just no way one reasonable person is going to eat that whole thing).

I see quite a few negative compliments in the reviews. Don’t mind them at all. I’ve eaten here many time and have always had good service and excellent food. Small family owned business that does a good job. Might be a little on the expensive side of things but you have to remember the location. Big piney isn’t exactly in a very populated area. They have to make a living too! If you want cheap Mexican food go to taco bell and complain somewher else. Keep up the good work!

Were in town hunting and ate there twice. Both excellent meals! The second time she remembered what my boys had ordered. Great food and service! Strawberry nachos were amazing! Also, we were there close to closing time and they didn’t mind at all! Highly recommend!

Ah, La Cabana—a shining beacon of culinary excellence that restores one’s faith in the art of dining. From the moment I crossed its threshold, I knew I was in for an experience worth savoring. The air was warm and inviting, filled with the aromas of spice and smoke, a promise of the delights to come.
I began my journey with a margarita, a masterpiece in liquid form. Served in a glass that shimmered like the sun on a tranquil sea, its balance of tangy lime and smooth tequila was nothing short of perfection. Each sip was a revelation, a harmonious dance of flavor that left me refreshed and profoundly satisfied. Were I to return for the margaritas alone, it would still be a pilgrimage well worth undertaking.
Then came the enchiladas, a feast that deserves to be sung in verses. The tortillas, tender yet robust, cradled a filling so rich and flavorful it could have been a secret handed down through generations. Smothered in a velvety sauce that was equal parts smoky and savory, every bite was a triumph. The cheese, melted to golden perfection, added a luxurious note that elevated the dish to sublime heights. Accompanied by a side of rice and beans that were anything but an afterthought, it was a plate that celebrated the very essence of Mexican cuisine.
The service at La Cabana was as impeccable as the food. The staff moved with the grace of seasoned hosts, attentive without being intrusive, and their genuine warmth made me feel less like a customer and more like a welcomed guest at a family gathering.
La Cabana is not merely a restaurant; it is a sanctuary of flavor, a celebration of craftsmanship, and a reminder of how transcendent a meal can be. To those seeking an experience that nourishes both body and soul, I say this: look no further. La Cabana awaits, and it is nothing short of extraordinary.

The staff was sufficient in polite. The quality of the food was to my surprise very scrumptious I don’t typically eat Mexican cuisines but this one was any different. Play Atmosphere Family oriented. And they were very time efficient from the time I sat down to time my plate was delivered at the time I left what about 45 minutes.

I walked in and was happy to see the place was busy but still had empty tables. It is a thriving restaurant that serves good food. I was envious of the double cheeseburger and fries as it was carried by. I found my chicken and rice though to be flavorful and filling. It is a great place to meet others and have great conversations over good food.

I was in Big Piney for work for about a half day and this place is just as unique or more than other towns in wyoming. There’s something about this town and not just because GPS is unnecessary here, just drive up and down every street in town for about 8 minutes and you’ll have been everywhere you can go. Pretty damn good Mexican food too. Some of the best chips and salsa that I know of, if I ever come back Ill ask them they sell that salsa by the gallon 🙂
