Solid spot for Vietnamese food. The pho was flavorful and the portion size was good. Service was fine—nothing special, but friendly enough. The place was clean and the order came out in a reasonable time. Prices felt fair for what you get. I’d come back if I’m nearby, but it didn’t blow me away.

Everything was great, it was perfect small town diner and people were very lovely, my daughter and I enjoyed our time and love supporting family/small businesses.
The food was not as great as I expected, I hyped myself up reading all the beautiful reviews and was rather disappointed by my dish honestly, my daughter’s mushroom chow mein wasn’t really decent either sadly. EXCEPT for the egg rolls. That was absolutely divine and I could have eaten a full dozen. Absolutely best part of the meal.
We chose not to complain about our meals at the restaurant because we decided we will absolutely try to eat here again just incase it was an off day, everyone has those every once in awhile we figure.
Please don’t let my food rating scare you off though, if you want to experience the authentic small town chinese/Vietnamese/American diner, this is the place and they do a great job overall.
Do yourself a favor, and get the egg rolls. Will.not.be.disappointed.

We had a wonderful meal at the Trans Cafe in Humboldt. We were there at 4:00 before the supper rush. We had the combo #1 for $13.99. It came with chicken chow mein, fried rice, sweet & sour pork, and deep fried shrimp. It was delicious and did not leave us feeling heavy like some Chinese food places. I ordered a side spring roll and it was fantastic! The dipping sauce was delicious and homemade. The owner is so friendly and very astute to her customers needs. My 95 year old grandmother comes here every Sunday with her friends and the owner always provides top notch service and makes sure they all feel welcome. I highly recommend this place. It may not be the most high end decor, but it screams small town SK Chinese restaurant and I love it for that.

This restaurant’s a hidden gem in Humboldt. We ordered the Combo Number 1 for $10.95! Our order came with rice, Chow Mein noodles, deep fried shrimp and sweet and sour ribs. The prices were very affordable. We were well taken care of during our visit and the food was delicious!

Very yummy food and great service! The lady who (I’m assuming) runs this place is very friendly, swift, diligent, funny and cute! (<- Not in a weird way ) The food was delicious, and very-well seasoned! Also quick and amazing service. The portions were quite large compared to other restaurants where they give you half a plate of food. We had a party of 8 and the price was very affordable! (135$) 10/10, hidden gem in Humboldt and would definitely come here again!!

It’s rare I call something the best I’ve ever eaten at any restaurant. Tran’s Cafe has done it twice. These were the most delicious spring rolls and special wonton soup I’ve ever had.
