I have been coming to this restaurant for over a decade now. As soon as I land in Cancun, it is always a tradition of mine to go straight to Sal’s restaurant as soon as I get off of the plane.
I have been fortunate enough to at hundreds of restaurants throughout the years, many fine dining, and this one will always hold a special place in my heart and be my very favorite.
Everything from the quality of food, the incredible flavors, the presentation, the warmth of the service, the pride that the chefs take in their dishes, and the intimate, quiet ambience never disappoints me and is always five stars.
I adore and admire the pride and attention that Sal takes in his restaurant. He is there almost every day with his employees, and you can tell that this place is his pride and joy. He pays close attention to detail, comes out to greet you with warmth, and remembers your face personally. My highlight is always getting to light up and see him when I walk in. I am always happy he is there and that I get to see him.

I love that he is consistent and does not change what is already perfect. Nothing ever changes, and I appreciate that so much. It has become like nostalgia to me, because when I walk in, nothing has changed. It has been in the same location since it opened, with the same amount of tables, and the exact same menu so I can order the same incredible dishes. I will be back again to see you on October 4, and I cannot wait to see you again!
I hope your business is blessed and stays open for many years to come.

Had an early dinner with a large group. Chef Sal came out to personally greet us and chat before we ordered. Guillermo was a fantastic server and very attentive. The food was delicious. Because we had such a large familial group, we had a chance to taste and share so many different dishes. I ordered the rack of lamb and it was cooked to perfection and the presentation was beautiful. I also sampled the duck, tuna, filet mignon, foie gras, scallops, cheese spread and more. All of it was spectacular. Our only complaint was the temperature inside the restaurant was uncomfortably warm and we mentioned it several times with no change. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to visitors.

First and foremost, they overcharged us by $100USD. I didn’t want to make a scene with my kids, so I just left. That said, the food was true-to-form French; everything was very similar in presentation and technique to the cuisine we had in Paris. French food isn’t particularly well seasoned and is a bit light on the salt. If that’s what you prefer, this is the place for you. If you prefer more seasoning and flavor, I suggest getting local food. They also added extra costs that were not advertised. When I looked at the menu online (after leaving) they definitely overcharged us by at least $100USD. I’m assuming because we are American. I wish we hadn’t left a large tip, knowing now they did this. Other than that, they were very accommodating of our kids and were very pleasant. It was a bit slow, but I’m assuming it’s because the food was cooked in a very authentic French fashion. The only thing we all agreed was delicious and worth the money, was the rack of lamb and three cheese soufflé appetizer. Everything else was…very French. Meaning bland. But again…that’s exactly how authentic French food is.

DON’T GO. I’m French and trust me this is a scam. They sell you poorly cooked, warmed up food and use “French cuisine” as an excuse to charge you 5x the price.
The bread was several days old, aspergus not cooked, they were missing 80% of the items on the menu, service is below bad.
Foie gras costs >450 pesos, and it’s not real one with minuscule portion. When we sent it back saying we won’t pay that much for that and that it was unacceptable they didn’t even argue.
I don’t know if the restaurant is about to close or something, but again avoid at any cost!

We’ve been going to this restaurant for 10 years. It is always excellent. Chef Sal really loves preparing food for his guests. Food is presented beautifully. The filet mignon is excellent, the veal appetizer is fantastic. We go there every year we are in Cancun
