We werent sure what to expect it was our first time eating here, but we really were happy with the vibes! We had a food restriction and the attendant really guided us through what we could select for our dinner by listing all the ingredients. We ended up having the vegetarian mushroom tacos and they tasted so good! Definitely coming back for another round.

Mediocre tacos. Won’t go back. Al pastor had no flavor. Not a lot of meat. Most taco places you can barely close the taco. I asked for no cilantro and had it. It wasn’t disgusting but not great. And parking sucks. So def not worth the effort.

A great place to get tacos, mulitas and quesadillas. The person taking our order was amazing and made us feel at home. The salsa bar here is one of the best I’ve ever tasted and I would be coming back for more.

I had such a good experience here. Came in for date night and the clerk working cashier was so friendly! The food was great and I was even talked into getting a souvenir sauce bottle! Definitely plan on coming back!

You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and it’s limited enough that you can try everything on there in a few trips. The Adobada is sensational, carne asada is tender and delicious and pollo asado is grilled perfection. Tacos and mulitas are soft and quesadillas and vampiros are crispy. The tortillas are made to order. Everything is served with onions, cilantro, guacamole and salsa. There’s also a salsa bar with a nice selection of house made salsas. Seating is limited. Street parking. Looking forward to my next visit!

Doesn’t stack up compared to the other locations. Made an order online, paid, drove to pick up. They called to tell me they were out of basically everything I ordered. Out of chicken and steak. They offered to use mushroom instead. No way.

They understood & took it to another level & to top it off…. they brought it to CSUN, my film school.

The cook in a blue shirt & red hat, 02-05-26 was extremely rude, insisting we order something or get out of his restaurant, we were waiting for the rest of our party to show up so we can order as one & were trying to explain that to him he said he did not want to hear it and pointed at that door. We left extremely confused and upset at how he treated us, will not be returning & letting our friends and family know how they treat customers.

So sad to write this, because when I lived in LA this was one of my favorite taco spots, but wow, things have gone downhill since I moved.

Look at these embarrassing tacos. They’re less than HALF the portion of meat of what they used to serve. It felt like I was eating a chewy tortilla with onion and bland salsa. Adding mushrooms was 75cents extra and I got literally four slices on each taco. On top of the tiny portions, the meat was also chewy, fatty and cold. The flavor was just not there either.

I really am sad this place has chosen shrinkflation and sacrificed the quality that made them so successful and enjoyable in the past. I recommend you go support one of LA’s many other incredible taco stands and trucks and support those immigrant businesses rather than whatever Tacos 1986 thinks it is these days. Sadly, I’m never coming back when visiting LA again.
