Golden Kava Lounge is easily the most sophisticated spot in town for anyone into ethnobotanicals. It feels more like a high end lounge than a typical tea shop.
I really appreciate how they honor the roots of the drink. If you are with friends, I highly recommend ordering the Ceremonial Bowl. It follows the traditional Pacific Islander style of sharing from a large tanoa, which makes the whole experience feel social and grounded. It is a great way to actually slow down and connect.
On the other hand, their Kava Shooters are a brilliant modern touch. They use a golden extract of pure kavalactones, which is perfect if you want the relaxing effects without the volume of a traditional drink. It is clean, quick, and very effective.
Beyond the kava, their selection of specialty teas is incredible. The staff clearly understands the different physiological effects of each blend and can help you choose the right tea for your mood. The atmosphere is perfect and the service is top notch. This is definitely my new go to spot for a mindful night out

Hands down the best kava spot in the area. I’ve hit four other spots around town and nothing comes close to how fresh their kava is here. Bronson behind the bar is a legend every single time… super chill, remembers your order, and somehow makes the place feel like home the second you walk in. The kava chai he makes is tasty.
The music is always on point too. Every time I roll through they’re playing the perfect techno and the whole place is just locked into this mellow, uplifting vibe. Everyone’s friendly, nobody’s weird, and the energy is always immaculate.

Lots of space and activities to hang out. Really good kratom and kava selections and varieties of drinks. Staff was very friendly. My car was involved in a hit and run in the parking lot and Luke the manager made sure I was ok and gave me a voucher which was definitely above and beyond and will make me come again for sure. Would highly recommend this place for everyone who wants a space to chill or enjoy some drinks

Nice little local hangout its a small bar / pool hall where you can play a game of pool and have a beer after a long day at work, the people who work here were very attentive and professional. I would definitely recommend this local hangout. Will be back for sure!

I’ve been here twice, once was about 2 years ago and the other was today. Both times, I asked the cashier to explain to us what kava was and what drink was best to try. Both times, with different staff members, they were incredibly kind and patient and sweet. Their kava tastes great (I get the Emerald one, it tastes like tea but more bitter), and as an incredibly anxious and busy person, The relief that I got from drinking that tea made me feel better than I have in nearly a year. I also love that it only cost $1 to play pool, my girlfriend and I had a blast!
My favorite part about this place though is the fact that they (from what I gathered) are alcohol-free. I’m sober and plan to remain sober all my life and sometimes feel a little excluded from a lot of adult activities because I don’t drink. Having a bar, ask environment with pool tables and nice drinks and chill people, but without the alcohol, is just so refreshing and incredible.

During the daytime, GKL is a great place to study. The vibe is really calm with nice study music in the background and the drinks can really help you focus. It’s nearby campus and the drinks are a good price for students plus they have snacks too.
