I ordered rib tips, greens, mac and cheese. They were very good, meat falling off the bone. The greens to me were a little tough, and the mac and cheese was okay. My daughter had a pulled pork sandwich, and that was really good. Oh the fried pickles were good too. Our server Jen was friendly and informative about the menu items. They were out of Brisket when we got there, which is what I wanted to order.

Consistently the best BBQ I’ve ever had. My husband introduced me to Walt’s 8 years ago when we started dating. We’ve been here more times than I can count and have never had bad service or food. The BBQ (both meat and sauces) are phenomenal.

I read some rough reviews before trying Walts tonight but I’m pleased to say I found nothing to complain about. The food was great and everyone enjoyed their dinner. The stand out for me was actually the pulled chicken. I’m a pork fan so pulled chicken is not usually my thing, but I tasted the wife’s and was really surprised by how delicious it was.

Decent prices on the lunch special. $6.50 for a pulled pork sandwich and fries. Had to add on a side of sweet potato casserole, because YUM! They did kind of mess up my order, handed me a drink I didn’t order, asked for spicy sauce, got sweet, asked if there was ketchup in the bag, they said yes, but no ketchup. Also, any bbq joint should know you’re going to need more than one napkin. It was all very tasty though, and worth what I paid for it.

There was ONE shrimp in their shrimp and cheddar grits. When I asked the waitress if the dish was supposed to come with just one shrimp, she said “I reckon so” and walked away. Besides the one shrimp, which I liked and would have enjoyed more of, I was not a fan of that dish and did not like the taste of it. If it wasn’t for the other people telling me their food tasted good, I “reckon” I would never go back if I was in the area again.

What a downhill slide. Over a couple of years, Walt’s has gone from a top list favorite to a “never again”.
Servers are always efficient and friendly, but the food quality has become consistently bad. The past few visits we were served overdone and dry brisket. The sweet potato casserole had lost its magic.
But the proverbial straw was the pulled pork. And I really don’t know how to describe it. About 10% of the dish was recognizable as pulled pork. The rest of the dish seemed to have been pulled from fat. It was like a mash with a few strands of pork. Anyone with pride in the kitchen would never have let it go out to a diner.
What used to be a full parking lot and full tables is now just a shadow and existing only on its former glory. How sad.

Really Bad! I asked if there was new management because it used to be great with tender juicy ribs that fall off the bond and hardly a place to park. I was told the sons have taken it over, what ever that means. Now there were only a few customers on a week end night. The ribs were tough, dried out and cold. It is a waste of time and money. Too bad, We lost a great place to eat. Read the one one stars. I wrote to the Colerain Store a month ago as a constructive effort but got no re[ply.

I love Walts! We bring out of town guests here. The service is good and the food is amazing. The sandwich specials are cheap for the amount of food you get. Just a note: high ceilings, hard floor… It gets loud in there!

The food was amazing, the staff was amazing. The only thing that I didn’t like was the portion of the sides for the big meal you can buy that’s like $60? I can’t remember what it’s called but it’s supposed to feed 5-6 & you get 4 large sides. Those sides were not large lol. They were very good but I think for $60 they should be a lot bigger. If you wanted a normal portion of any of those sides you would take half of the bowl lol. Other than that it was awesome. will definitely be back soon!
