Yesterday I had visited Urbane Cafe for the first time. Let me say as a first time experience Terence left a very good impression on me. He’s kind, knowledgeable on all my questions, and very professional all around. As for food he recommended me his personal favorites like the Club and Pesto I believe. I chose the Club and it was very good. I hope to revisit for that Pesto he mentioned. I even sampled a bit of their drinks like the cucumber lemonade which was very refreshing. And all around the staff were nice welcoming me in and the restaurant was really clean, I just wanted an extra shine on their employee Terence.

YOU DROPPED A (SALT) BOMB ON ME: I hate to do this. One of my favorite discoveries of 2025 was trying Urbane Cafe and frequenting it as often as possible. I focus on the salads, either the Crunchy Peanut or the Cilantro Chicken which have always been tasty. Except today.
I placed an order for pickup at 3:59:31 on Feb 7, arriving a few minutes early. I had two false alarms (thinking my order was ready), letting the expediter the order was for Joe when asked. Chances would have it that a Jolenta also ordered — I had to hand it back after he kindly brought it over to me, which didn’t seem to make him happy.
My order was five minutes late and not called out like the other orders. I may hav misread this reaction, but when I got home and took a bite of my Crunchy Peanut Salad I got a massive salt bomb on the chicken, crispy onions, peanut section, ruining my entire salad (I have high blood pressure and tossed) — a first.
I won’t be back to this location.

The service is out of this world. Terenz treated me so nicely and it felt so good for someone to treat me so good. Ive never been here before and Terenz helped me with the menu. He recommended the most popular items and told me what he thinks is the best. Amazing 10/10 service. The foods amazing and I will definitely be coming back.

Wed 11/26/2025 Day before Thanksgiving. Dear General Manager, Joey Bogart. Urbane Cafe’s food was delicious. I ordered crunchy peanut salad, gluten free chocolate chip & a soft drink. Service was quick in taking my order & it took awhile in receiving my order. I had to ask for my table to be wiped down & noticed other tables needed busting as well. Bathroom I utilized was unkept with paper towels on the floor & needed attending to. On my visit, I would order pick-up instead of eating in. Noisy atmosphere & the floors were dirty. Tried this place for the first time. Let’s say I was looking for coffee but stayed because the food looked good. I asked the manager in duty what he recommended, and he gave me a couple options of his favorite entrees and I went with the Santa Maria bbq sandwich. Sandwich was delicious and service was excellent. Overall I had a good experience. Just wanted to leave my two cents.

My daughter and I stopped in for a very early dinner. Carson took our order. He was knowledgeable about the menu, shared his favorites, and was extremely accommodating, answering our various questions and navigating our order. We decided on a turkey club ( no turkey), a BLT ( please add to the menu), and a crunchy peanut salad with a cup of enchilada soup. Everything was delicious, fresh, and made to order. We enjoyed our meal and left happy and satisfied! We will be back soon. Thank you, Carson, for being so helpful and charming.

I ordered the ahi bowl with lettuce instead of rice, and found a large beetle bug whilst eating it. The staff didn’t seem surprised and acted as though this was something they had encountered before. The man working in the kitchen with the long brown brain (no hair net) arrogantly and inconsiderately told me I “got some extra protein” when I had showed him the bug. I had never experienced something like this ever before in my life. I would highly recommend not eating here.

My go to sandwich spot in scv! I wanted to try a new sandwich and luckily Terenz was able to suggest me one. He suggested the Pesto and Sundried Tomato! 10/10 would recommend. Huge props to Terenz for making that my new favorite sandwich to order :).
