Very kind service and delicious food. I got the chicken plate and a side of vegetable spring rolls. The chicken bowl was bite-for-bite delicious, highly recommend. The vegetable spring rolls had nice taste but I probably should have avoided the fried food (personal issue). There is ample seating in the side room, to the right of the ordering counter, and lots of parking out front. Simple setup but lovely, would come back.

Bottom line: avoid if seeking authentic Chinese food, or looking for fancy setting. However, hands-down BEST service from the manager! This is a no frills restaurant blocks from ODU. Ordered the Chicken and Shrimp plate. My friend that ordered the cheaper beef dish got more food (square takeout container vice my smaller circular container). Not sure how that works out, but the main issue is the insane AMOUNT of sodium/MSG/sugar that went into the dish. I literally felt my blood pressure rising halfway through the meal. I am assuming this restaurant is tailoring their menu to their typical clientele, but as an Chinese-born American from NYC and having ate many home-cooked authentic meals as well as diverse range in quality restaurant food, this meal was unacceptable to my typically very easy-going palate. It saddens me to write a poor review on the food, (this being my first), as the manager was extremely kind, attentive, and genuinely a great guy! He came by multiple times to check on us and other customers (not the norm for take out-focused restaurants). Also, the restaurant features large (for a take out spot) seating area (easily accomodating 20 people). Best of all, no tipping asked. This is the first place where the point-of-sale system doesn’t ask for a tip. Kudos! To me, tip shouldn’t be needed if no dedicated waiter service.
If you like “Americanized” Chinese food, give this place a chance; the manager is super friendly.

This place was horrible. every piece of food was absolute trash. Lo mein was watery and shrimp had no flavor. Shrimps were also cut in half to make it seem like you get more. Chicken tastes like frozen chicken from the store with a little sauce on it. Picked it up right when it was done and 3 minutes after picking it up and going to eat it, food was basically ice cold.
You can’t pay me to eat here again. And with the quality of food im shocked this is one of the highest rated in the area. I plan on taking at least 2 probiotics after eating this. Wish me luck

I checked out the reviews before coming here and I think went sure what I was expecting but it wasn’t a single old man working a basically empty chicken. Chose to come here for the prices and as seen, they’re much higher than I thought they were gonna be. Granted I only got the eggrolls so I’m not sure who it everything else but upset that staples such as General Tso’s chicken wasn’t offered

Asked for chicken fried rice and got some flavorless rice and undercooked flavorless chicken on top. Was a regular customer for Mr. Wong. The new management is bad. Stay away.

Food is SO CHEAP for the portions and quality and is always so so so good. Me and my friend come every Monday after our late classes get out and the man inside is always so nice and kind when we go in. Genuinely one of the best parts of my week is coming in, grabbing food, and just laughing in the resteraunt. I can not recommend this place enough to everyone I know and it deserves to be packed full every night.

Simple, affordable, and delicious Chinese treats; Home-made sauce and tea are even better. Manager service is the cherry on top no cap. I’ve had meals throughout college in this restaurant. The hometown taste is never getting old. Plenty of parking space out front.

Small place, basically hole in wall style. Limited menu, but the food more than made up for it. Great prices, too. Hands down, best Chinese food in Norfolk. Do not let the small building fool you. Once you try food, you will fall in love with this place. The man running it was super nice as well.
