We love it here! Great beer selection and the food is always incredible. Definitely worth stopping in for the Friday night fish fry, and don’t forego the fries! They’re incredible. Laid back atmosphere, laid-back owner. He’s a very nice guy, really cool, and always happy to strike up a conversation about whatever.
After reading the poor reviews, my suspicion is that a lot of these people showed up obviously stumbling drunk, or were rude to customers already in the place. I’ve never had nor witnessed a bad experience here, or anything like what I’ve read in those reviews. As one poorly-educated reviewer stated: I guess *theirs* a first time for everything. 😉

Honestly, this is one of my favorite bars. We just moved to the area recently and had a feeling this was going to be our new spot. Nothing fancy. Good drinks, and excellent bar food. The bartender (and owner) is down to earth. He holds himself to realistic expectations and is always willing to have a conversation.
I was surprised to see such negative reviews. Rule of thumb for this place ;1 star reviews are from 1 star people. They do not do “pick up” orders for food because, you know, it’s a bar. It’s usually just the owner and his one other employee on staff. I would think he would want to cater to the people actually inside the bar, no? If you were asked to leave because you didn’t have your ID, that isn’t their fault, it’s state law. Maybe ask the police for your ID back next time you see them.

They are not what I would call “customer friendly”. They currently own the market on bars in the area and it appears to have made them slightly curt to customers. Also, don’t trust the hours on Google maps or even the hours pasted outside their window. They will open whenever they feel like it that day.
However, when they are open they seem to have the ability to pop a bottle cap off of a beer. So if you do manage to find it open and you would like a cold one. By all means… stop in.

Your not a real customer until you have been kicked out once. After patronising this establishment fairly regularly for 2 years, I finally got kicked out. Why? For not giving a 5 star review (I never give that many unless I’m getting a BJ with my beer). Well, luckily I never give 1 stars either.

I love this place! I meet my friends and listen to great music, play cards, free pool. the food is great. they have Real french fries, super pork bites and deep fried cheese rolls. it’s kind of like Cheers!

Bartender DISCRIMINATED against my husband and I bcz we look young before we could even sit down to eat dinner together. So “Bill” (thats what he said his name was) asked for our IDs when all we wanted to do was eat in the restaurant part. So not having his ID on him my husband honestly told the male bartender that an officer had taken his license and never gave it back. The bartender proceeded to call him a criminal and that he doesn’t need criminals at his bar cz he’s done his part cleaning up his block already. Horrible person to have driving ur paying customers away. Could be a 5 star bar/restaurant if they’d hire a more respectable person to run the place instead of running it into the ground. Only given one star bcz i couldn’t give no stars. Good luck Spar Tree- you’re gonna need it!!

I ordered a beer and a basket of fries and chicken strips, I asked guy that cooked them why the fries where burnt looking he said your used to mcdonalds fries arent you I said yeah and burgerkings guy started staring at me and looked mad took my beer and food and told me to leave. What a douche

Food is top notch and unexpected in this one horse town. Carefully crafted selection of beer teams wonderfully with the menu and the mix drinks are generous. Bloody great place.

Food is good comparable to most mid range local burger and fish and chips restaurants better price though.The drinks are poured with a heavy hand so be sure to keep that in mind if your driving.The owner has zero tolerance for bullsh!+, Or junkies so the crowd is always easy going.Only place in this state that I feel I am not being ripped off when I get my tab.
