Ordered pork chops, wings, greens, dressing & mac & cheese. The chicken wings were the best. The dressing tasted like there was way too much sage. The pork chops were tough. & the greens tasted different (they had a taste I can’t explain).

The customer service at this establishment was superb! We were visiting from DC, and staying near by. I found Ella’s via a Google search for near by soul food. We tried the Short Rib and Fried Chicken, Mac, Greens, yams, German Chocolate, and Carrot Cake!
There were 3 of us, and all of us loved something different. My favorite was the Short Ribs and yams! They were delicious!!!! I don’t typically eat German Chocolate cake, but decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised, it was really good. The only other item I tried was the Greens. I’m not sure what was missing for my taste buds, but they were just ok. My daughter loved the Mac n Cheese.
Overall we really enjoyed the food. We will definitely be back on our next visit!

I got the smothered pork chops, mac and cheese, and yams. That’s the first thing I need to say. This is my first review ever and I ABSOLUTELY needed to write this. If I could give it a 10/5 I would. Arguably some of the best soul food I’ve had in such a long time. I won’t lie to you, I pulled up to the restaurant and I was a little skeptical because there’s only 2 sliding windows and no way to get in for real. But don’t judge a book by it’s cover y’all, trust me! I highly suggest ordering ahead, it will take a while for them to get everything together, but trust me it is so worth the wait! I’m coming here every time I’m in the area

I enjoyed my food. The macaroni was a bit off for me but I enjoyed the ribs, cornbread and greens. Dressing had a little too much sage for my taste. I will patronize again.

Best soul food Downriver! We usually just get their wings, macaroni, and greens. So good. Customer service is great as well. I’ve ordered from them multiple times and never had a problem. The only thing I hate is their inconsistent and tough hours, but I understand it’s probably a small business thing they have to deal with.

This is my first time visiting Ella Mae’s Place. I love giving small businesses a play. The customer service that I received was satisfactory and the food portions were large. I ordered the meatloaf dinner and it was absolutely delicious. I give the dinner 5 ⭐ . I’ll be back!
