From the moment I stepped into Captain George’s Seafood Restaurant, I knew I was in for something special. The atmosphere is vibrant yet cozy — filled with the inviting aroma of fresh seafood and the cheerful energy of families and friends enjoying an unforgettable meal together.
The seafood buffet is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish tastes freshly prepared and perfectly seasoned — from the buttery, melt-in-your-mouth crab legs to the juicy shrimp, tender scallops, and perfectly fried oysters. The selection is vast and beautifully presented, with something for everyone (including non-seafood lovers, who’ll still find plenty of delicious options).
The service is top-notch. The staff are attentive, friendly, and genuinely care about your dining experience. My drink was never empty, and every interaction felt warm and personal — a rare touch that elevates the entire experience.
I also appreciated how clean and well-organized everything was. The buffet stations were constantly refreshed, and the dining area felt upscale yet relaxed — the perfect balance for an enjoyable meal.
To top it all off, dessert was divine — especially the creamy cheesecake and decadent chocolate mousse.
Whether you’re visiting from out of town or you’re a local looking for a memorable night out, Captain George’s delivers an unforgettable combination of quality, flavor, and Southern hospitality.
Truly one of the best seafood experiences I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

Can’t go to Myrtle Beach and not eat seafood. Between google and my uber driver this place is highly rated and it did not disappoint. It was a line that moved swiftly and the place is huge and it was packed with people couples, family’s and party’s of 20!! I was flabbergasted honestly. There were many stations and so much food and the food was still hot. They were stocked almost immediately and they had a whole section for desert which wasn’t my favorite. However everything else was amazing and seasoned well. The staff were genuinely nice, smiling and willing to help even if they weren’t your server. Like I can’t complain I loved every minute of it. Our bill was $144 including tip and it was worth it !!

This was a great place to eat. We ate there for Thanksgiving buffet. We had a party of 15, so we had 3 servers. The food was all maintained and swapped quickly. Servers were so nice and helpful. My daughter, with celiac, was helped personally by a server. He helped her walk around the different buffets to let her know what foods were gluten free. Even for dessert. He later saw her trying to look at the meats. He told her to sit at her table and he would bring steak to her! She was so happy and said it tasted wonderful. I don’t believe I have ever had such great buffet service at a buffet restaurant before…let alone have that kind of service at a regular restaurant. We left our service a great tip for their hard work and great service.

3rd visit to this restaurant and unfortunately me and my aunt both got sick after we ate. The food was pretty good be a limited selection and many items were cold and the clam chowder was too thick. It definitely was not the same as I remembered from two years ago. The best part was my service.

Went here tonight just to try it, seems like a popular place. I only wanted to come because unlimited crab legs, duh. Atmosphere was nice, nice for a buffet. Other side dishes were pretty average buffet food so nothing I would come back for. For 50$ a person, I feel cheated. So I made sure to have 8 plates of crab legs and make a Togo pan. I tried a small bit of each dessert and was let down IMMENSELY by each bite I took. The pudding had some sort of textural chunks that made me gag a little, big turn off. Service was good tho, very attentive and kept dumping my scraps every time I filled my bucket with pounds of crab leg scraps. I will say, I feel cheated. Half the crab legs had literally NO MEAT. it makes me begin to think they are genetically modified crab legs, they must be taking the meat out somehow. Idk. But safe to say, I am full and my husband left unsatisfied. We won’t be returning. Bibs and gloves should be provided, I was a mess after eating.

Thanksgiving Evening Buffet; only 49.99 super great price. At least 100+ items on the buffet; crab legs was my go to so sweet didn’t even need butter. Desserts were great, service was great and they were super busy.

LISTEN UP AND HEAR ME WELL, THIS IS THE BEST BUFFET I HAVE EVER SEEN OR BEEN TO THAT WASNT IN LAS VEGAS!
This place is a seafood lovers dream!!! All you can eat crab legs, mussels clams, shrimp, brisket, ribs, wings fried chicken, salads and on and on etc!!!! And they have multiple stations of crab legs so your not fighting with people at one spot. The food just kept coming out hot and ready!
They even have a small sports bar area for those that wanna eat some shrimp and watch the games.
It’s is SUPER clean and very well organized from the entry to the seating and the waiters don’t miss a beat!!!! I couldn’t believe how big this place is either. Whomever owns this place definitely understands their customer market. I have 0 complaints and we are actually picky about eating buffets after COVID but this Captain George’s place i would visit on repeat anytime we visit here. Don’t be afraid of the line when you see it packed because they have a process to seat on party size, it’s really good and our wait time from getting out the car to seating on Saturday Labor Day weekend at 7pm, was only 18 minutes.

I thought I was going to the place I visited two years ago, but it turned out to be a different location. The food was overall pretty good. My favorite crab legs were a bit too salty, which was a little disappointing, but having three crab leg stations meant I didn’t have to wait long, which was really convenient. Also a very friendly server!

Sunday is $5 off buffet meal per person so it is 45$ instead of $50 basically. We usually get an all you can eat crab legs dinner when we visit the beach and it’s $50 or more per person with only corn, hush puppies or sausage, The buffet is worth it for sure! The buffet was fully stocked with dozens of choices and fresh. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Jim was out waitor and he was extremely nice and fun. My mother and I went for crab legs and had our fill, as well as so many other great options from the buffet.
I got a drink from the bar, bartender was very nice and made me a great Moscow mule. He had a eagles jersey on so of course I loved that! Everything was really great for us and the dessert bar is huge compared to other local eateries. I do wish it was acceptable to take a dessert home with you after. We were so full from crab legs and other foods from the buffet that we didn’t get much dessert. It may be an available option to take a piece of cake or something to go. I will remember that for next time to ask. All in all, great meal and dinning experience.

WAY overpriced! This should be a $19.99 buffet, not a $49.99 buffet. Food is average, good variety of items, but when cooked in this quantity and sitting out in the open, the quality suffers. Drinks like lemonade are extra which is insane, beer selection is poor, no IPAs. Atmosphere is a bunch a big tables with people getting mounds of food and wasting much of it.
