Had the Idaho nachos and a slice of pie, both were amazing. Highly recommended.

Just wonderful! Wholesome good home cooking right on the edge of the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness.

We ate supper there on September 28, 2017. The meal, as usual, was excellent. We ordered huckleberry pie for dessert; at $6.50 a slice we thought it was pretty pricey, but did it anyway.

When the bill came the cost of the pie was now $7.75. To me, $6.50 was a stretch; we’d have passed on it at $7.75. I asked the waitress about it and was told that the price had changed. I allowed that my menu showed $6.50. The waitress said that “we must have missed changing some menus”.

I think this is pretty shoddy business practice, kind of like a bait-and-switch. We like the food and the setting, but have an aversion to being chiseled. We probably won’t be back.

Syringa Cafe was recommended to me and I wasn’t disappointed. I ordered the Rib Steak and it came with Soup and Salad. The portion size was great and the cost was reasonable. The Waitresses were friendly and made me feel at home. I even got to witness the local Home Coming Parade while I was there. By the way, the Pineapple Sundae was excellent. Diffidently will stop when I pass by here again.

We bumped into this place after paddling the Lochsa and Selway Rivers. We com from a big City with lots of amazing restaurants, so we did not have high expectations. We were so surprised at how amazing the food was. I ordered the Portobello stuffed mushroom which was to die for. The soup of the day was beef barley and it was the best beef barely I’d ever had. I usually don’t eat desert, but I decided with food this good I would try their huckleberry pie and ice cream. I’m glad I did. The waitress was lovely. She is in training to be a raft guide. I would love to stay in their cabins some time.
