We have been staying at the Harraseeket Inn for a little over a week and have had breakfast at Porters several times, including the continental breakfast buffet, as well as ordering many dishes from the à la carte menu. Each time the highlight of the experience has been the service. We have experienced exemplary service from Celeste many times, and will continue to request to be seated in her section every time we visit. She is truly a credit to this establishment and should be commended for her professionalism and warmth.
Now, on to the food. I will admit to being a little bit biased because we have stayed at the Harraseeket many times over the years, and know what the breakfast buffet used to be like, but I have to say, through no fault of the staff, the offerings are significantly diminished since our last visit. Previously, before the new management took over, I would have said that the hotel and restaurant had the most expansive and wonderful breakfast buffet of any hotel in the region. This is not the case now. The a la carte menu items are very limited, and expensive for what they are. They are just good, not particularly mind-blowing. I would not say this is the fault of the kitchen staff, they simply are working with the limited resources they have. As for the continental breakfast buffet, it is simply ok. Nothing special, especially compared to their previous buffet offering. Again, I admit to being somewhat biased based on my previous experiences. I believe there is room for improvement where breakfast is concerned, and I would like to see it upon my next visit. In all honesty, my rating for the breakfast would probably be closer to a 3.5 if Google had the option for partial stars.

Fabulous dining experience right from the start. Billy was amazing as he offered suggestions and helped to navigate our meal. Clam chowder is excellent. Wedge salad fresh and delightful. Brussel sprouts are exquisite, so flavorful. Crab cakes are tasty, they have a unique flavorful twist than traditional crabcakes. Chicken wings on point. Save room for dessert! Blueberry pie, warmed with homemade vanilla ice cream is exceptional. Highly recommend stopping in for a snack, or a meal. Ask for Billy, you won’t be disappointed.

The food was absolutely amazing, with a great variety of options on the menu. We enjoyed a delicious cocktail and loved every bite of our meal. The venue is beautiful—romantic yet relaxed, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area. Highly recommend!

The Porter Kitchen and Bar is an excellent spot for a delicious meal and great atmosphere. I had the seafood cioppino, and it was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. I also tried the blueberry pie, and it was just as amazing—sweet, homemade, and the perfect finish to the meal. The service was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend The Porter Kitchen and Bar for anyone who enjoys great food and warm hospitality!

Probably the best hotel dinner we ever had. Steak AuPoivre was excellent. Sauce with the steak was perfect. Field green salad with goat cheese and vinergette was balanced to perfection. $11 Malbec was a great match with the steak. Blueberry pie and blueberry bread pudding were great, vinella ice cream unlike any I have ever had. Special shout out to Zachary “Cheese’

Celebrating a special occasion! Absolutely outstanding in every way and the food is truly spectacular and the best in Maine! Make a reservation and be sure to try the “Dirty Manhattan” or a Bombay Sapphire Negroni. Again — couldn’t be more in love with the best of the best! Definitely set your sights on the Porter Kitchen & Bar when you’re staying in Freeport, and make the drive if you’re not! So worth it!

This was a mixed bag for me. The waitress was absolutely lovely. Bubbly, funny, and attentive. The atmosphere was so comfortable and cozy. Clean with spacious seats and tables. We were a table of four. Looking at the menu we were excited to get some exotic foods with a twist. The food was a slight let down. More-so because it didn’t match the cost. $15 dollar martinis and $30 plates in the mid to upper side of the menu we were excited to have something yummmy. 4 plates, Salmon, with crunchy skin. Vegetable curry. Beef bourguignon and seafood orecchiette. The flavors were ok, the portions, eh and the preparations, well. The salmon was asked for a temp, med but way over and the skin was chard a bit but not crispy. Vegy curry, tiny portion and liters just some vegy as and curry with some black rice. The beef bourguignon, delish but omg only three little pieces of meat. $30 btw. The seafood orecchiette, bland and also dismal portion. We had a wonderful time Will go back. But not on the top of the list.

Excellent servers. Celeste is a gem.
So pleasant and friendly.
All homemade breads and granola were lovely.
Nice to have the continental breakfast included with my stay; however I have heard that the buffet used to be much more varied and impressive. It was not awesome; but as it is included and homemade , I appreciate it.
