This place could be cool but gives me the ick! They still haven’t figured out the trashcan situation in the front entrance where there are a sea of them which were being sprayed off as we walk by. The table had bird poop on it … we had to ask the hostess to clean it off since she was just going to put the placemats on top of the poop. Even after wiping it, it seemed like it was covered in black mold. The napkins had good crusted on them. The food was just meh, we were turned off by everything else. The server was prompt but they ran out of apple juice so she just brought orange juice instead … will not be returning. Here are receipts …

We have been to the Sand House before and now after the renovations. The new look is great. Not all tables face the ocean, so if that’s what you’re going for arrive early. They went electronic with the ordering system and the table assignments were wonky which left us waiting for wait staff to realize we had not been helped. They were very friendly and no issues after that.
Food is still delicious. I think there are some new menu items but I’ve included the menu in my PICTs.

Keep in mind I did not eat here. I walk the beach every morning with my dog when here and saw this place open. Came up from the beach side. Hostess is on the other side (why?!?) was then told they don’t let dogs in the restaurant.

You’re a beach side restaurant in ocean city. I think someone missed the logistics of the town you are in. Good luck have fun your view and menu are not enough to entice me back.

Nice open eating with a great view! Food was great! Only knocked a star because 2 adults and 1 kid and the bill was almost $100 for breakfast!!

I’ve been coming to OC for 23 years and there has never been anywhere on the beach to eat. This is the place to go if you want the full experience! Wonderful service, DELICIOUS food, and a variety of options to choose from. The best part? I got to enjoy a great meal with my toes in the sand

Fantastic brunch spot on the beach! The blue chairs on the path to the beach are for take out and the tables are for dine-in.

The banana fosters French toast and the salmon Benedict were incredible. They just opened but really have the food stuff figured out. I love that we walked in on the beach. The chairs were comfortable and the staff were great. The prices were fair and they take credit cards, which is nice in this area.

I really enjoyed the place.

Highly recommend – will eat here again. Five stars.

I can remember when this place was a hot dog shack that was only accessible via the beach. We have a house right down the road and I was PUMPED to see this place get a revival by the same team that owns Drip&Scoop, Dead End, etc.

PROS:
– ATMOSPHERE: this place has a great spot right on North beach with plenty of Adirondack chairs out front where you can sip coffee in the morning or eat lunch. The building itself is kind of a cool old beach shack that they have revitalized with some Island Vibes!
– FOOD: definitely a great menu with plenty of seafood. I would be surprised if they don’t have something you want to eat (breakfast, lunch, brunch)
– COFFEE: its not fancy but they have the best black coffee I have found North of the Starbucks on Asbury Avenue. Definitely diner style and really good

CONS:
– PRICE: it is not cheap. we got french toast, a breakfast sandwich, coffees and juice for a total price of over $50 including tip. I am happy to pay that but that is because I am supporting a local restaurant in my neighborhood. Other’s might hesitate.
– SERVICE; we have eaten here twice and the service was lacking both times. Once was during the lunch rush but the other was at 7am and the place was empty. Sand House could really be next level if they up their service game.

All in all, I love this place. I am so happy that they created something great in our neighborhood. I prefer to have my coffee and breakfast at home but this place definitely makes a compelling case..
