This place is such a mood!! It’s hidden for a good reason. It’s an amazing chill spot, great ambiance and really great drinks and cocktails. And nice soft music in the background enough for the tone to be set but not too much that I cuases for default rowdy conversation. A sweet balance to keep things classy I’d say. A NICE FIND!

I came here to enjoy a rare weekday off. This place was great. Brendan was a great bartender, and his cocktails were on point. There was a small, rustic feel to this place, and the drinks were priced right. This will he my go-to place when I want a good cocktail or bourbon in the future.

The Hideaway is a great spot to start or end your evening! The staff are very knowledgeable and will highlight any evening through their cocktail mastery. The Hideaway also sports an extensive whiskey selection that rivals any local watering hole that boasts of their offerings. Ownership ensures all are welcome at all times, and I’m proud to say I’m a loyal Hideaway patron! This is not a place for meals just fyi.

Nice cocktails. Quaint little bar with some downtown South Bend history. Didn’t try the food, but they did have a small appetizer list. Good place for a quiet conversation over a drink.

The building and atmosphere were really nice. However we went on a Sunday evening and were told they had no food other than pretzels and chips even though their menu listed several appetizers (for which we had a coupon) .
The drinks we ordered were delicious but our already small glasses were only 1/2 full. This is unacceptable fur $9.00 drinks. The servers were pleasant but we will not be returning anytime soon.
In light of the Hideaway’s response, our drinks were a watermelon something and they were not ‘neat’ they were 1/2 full. According to the server they had to throw the bread away because it had gone bad. This is not a sign of a busy Saturday. And what… No one could go out to buy bread? And again while the atmosphere and servers were nice, overpricing and poor management are not good things. I am a huge fan of supporting small businesses and I really wanted to like this place. Also when you put it a coupon (DTSB Summer pass) you should be prepared to honor that coupon.
