We came on a Wednesday afternoon and the staff was immediately attentive when we walked in. We got seated right away and we had a baby in tow. It was around 2 PM so it was right after the lunch rush. The restaurant was clean and we quickly placed our order. The sushi and sashimi came within 15 minutes and the fish was fresh and delicious. The servers checked up on us multiple times to make sure our cups were filled, and that the food was up to our standard. 10 out of 10 would come back again.

I believe our server’s name was Amy (as printed on the receipt).

Came back about 5 days later. Fantastic food and service AGAIN. Very grateful we found this spot.. took more pics today!

I love their AYCE deal. It is such a steal. The quality is excellent. The variety is excellent. The service is excellent. Really is amazing to get fresh sushi and all of the other options for the price. I have dined here a couple times already and would easily come back again and again. My favorites are the beef skewers, beef udon, beef yakisoba, any of the sashimi and sushi (the mackerel in particular because its my fav fish), the salmon skin handroll, the spider roll, and the matcha ice cream. They are super quick and the ambience is relaxing. Great for family and friends.

So the price point of all you can eat at 21.99 is really good. However, you can’t expect the best quality for that price, but the food overall okay. Only knocked it down a star because we waited a long time for our food. We arrived around 11:15 Am and did not leave until 1:30 pm. We only did two rounds. We also ordered desert, but it never came and he had to leave.

Disappointed in the volcano role because it was a California roll with topping on top, but the spider man roll, was better.

They could improve by adding more vegetable dishes. The girl in next table was a vegetarian and had limited choices. Since you already have shrimp tempura in the all you can eat. I would suggest to add a fried tempura roll with spicy mayo sauce. Very basic, but should be a big hit.

I’ll most likely come back again.

TLDR: One of the best AUCE sushi restaurants I have ever been to. Excellent quality, cast selection of both hot foods and sushi as well as attentive staff. With a price of <$25 per person, this is a must try for any sushi fanatic on a budget.

Vibe: 5/5. Located in a strip mall on the outskirts of Glen Burnie, Fukuya has a very convenient location for both Baltimore city and county residents. The parking lot has ample room even during peak hours. If public transportation is a must, one of the fee county Light Rail stops is located across the street. Inside, the restaurant shows off its newly renovated facilities with simple yet modern aesthetics. Everything was very clean and tidy during our dinner service. Bonus points for the little details at Fukuya embraced, ie. restaurant branded cups and plates.

Service: 5/5. The staff at Fukuya was beyond excellent from start to finish. When went for an early Tuesday dinner and were seated immediately. The restaurant uses the tried and true AUCE paper menu ordering system. You fill out the quantity of how many items you want on their paper menu and hand off to the staff to place. We ended up ordering 3 times and each round of food came out relatively quickly. Our hot tea pot was also tender too several times throughout our meal which is always appreciated.

Food: 5/5. The quality of both the kitchen food and sushi surpassed my wildest dreams for an AUCE sushi restaurant. Both the kitchen and sushi menus are vast, offering a wide variety of items for diners to choose from. During our dinner visit, we opted to try a little bit of everything from both menus and we’re thoroughly impressed. Highlights from the kitchen menu included the tasty seafood soup and generously portioned beef udon. Both of these items exemplified the quality as if they were served in a non sushi restaurant. From the sushi menu, we loved the maki and hand rolls. Generous fish to rice ratios in these two items make them the best choice for sushi lovers. The nigiri was a bit rice heavy, making them not our first choice. In terms of the quality of fish, I found the taste to be very high quality and that of any a la carte sushi place. As an added bonus, the AUCE includes your choice of dessert! Overall, as long as Fukuya keeps up this level of quality of both food and service with the reasonable price tag of $22-25, they will remain the best in town.

This is a new AYCE sushi spot that just opened up in Glen Burnie and honestly, it’s the best!!

In addition to offering sushi, they also offer a range of other dishes such as Udon, various apps and desserts. For all of those options for now, it’s only $22!!! I am not sure if this is a grand opening price and if it will increase.

We got a variety of rolls, handrolls, nigiri, soup, apps, dessert, and the udon noodles and I could not tell you which one I loved more. They were all well prepared and the meat ratio was generous. I will say that I wish the rice ratio for the Nigiri was smaller.

The service was also amazing! Our server was prompt and vibed well with us! She thought we made a mistake on our order form and when we finished our rolls quickly, she laughed and was shocked.

If you choose to go here don’t let the location fool you. It is located in a strip mall and while the exterior may seem questionable, the ambiance inside is nothing but Zen. There are bout 10 tables inside and a bar area. I can’t say this place is suited for too large of a crowd but it can take on parties of about 8-10 comfortably.

UPDATED:
I am keeping my original review but adding here an update!

Went here on a weeknight with 2 of our friends and compared to their original weeks of service, it was particularly slower and the waitress was not as welcoming or attentive as the other 2 times we had visited here. With that said, there was a help wanted sign so maybe they were short staffed and/or the staff working had been working longer than usual shifts. While they’ve kept the price at $21.99, we did notice that the maki rolls had doubled with much more rice! Please warned so that you do not over order and find yourself unable to finish everything! Let’s end on a high note, the Yaki Beef is really flavorful and tender!! Don’t sleep on this one!

Great restaurant! The food was fresh and amazing – highly recommend the all you can eat buffet for $23. Some of my favorites were the SpiderMan speciality roll, the miso soup, and the yakitori chicken skewers. For the sashimi, some of my favorites were the unagi, smoked salmon, and the red clam. Can’t wait to come back to eat at this great restaurant!

Update April 2024: Had the chance to revisit Fukuya and try more of their menu! See updated photos.

I went to FUKUYA for their all-you-can-eat sushi was quite disappointing. The quality of the sushi meat was subpar, lacking the freshness and flavor one would expect. Additionally, the wasabi served to me was dry and hard, which further detracted from the overall dining experience. The mushroom soup was literally just hot water with raw mushrooms and chives, lacking any depth of flavor or proper preparation. To make matters worse, I found a piece of bone in my salmon, which was quite concerning. The staff also rushed us to order, making the experience even less enjoyable. Additionally, our server was not knowledgeable about the menu and unable to answer basic questions about the different types of sushi and their ingredients.
On the plus side, the teriyaki red snapper was good, offering a flavorful and well-prepared dish amidst an otherwise unsatisfactory meal. However, given the overall issues, I find it difficult to recommend FUKUYA.

Let’s start off with that this place has the best miso soup I have ever tried. Thick, hot, refreshing, and flavorful. The sushi however was amazing too. We came for the AYCE sushi, and got dim sum, yakitori, and gyoza for appetizers, all ending up being delicious. The sashimi, raw sushi rolls, and special cooked rolls were just as good. $~33 a person after tax for my group of people was definitely worth it and I’ll be going back here again! Also, the service was great. The staff were friendly and immediately came. We did get lunch however so at night service time may be different. The atmosphere during lunch also felt very homely.

Good sushi and service but inconsistent food quality/flavor. Visited twice as a solo diner and felt very well taken care of. Salmon always a bit questionable in taste and I was sad in my second visit that they changed their masago (first was orange- now red and not as delicious, I’m thinking they replaced with tobiko)

I should’ve known that meat at a sushi spot would be questionable, teriyaki flavor isn’t very present but delicious enough to enjoy 2 red snappers (questioning if snapper as it changed on my second visit), beef teriyaki alright but with a lot of chewy portions, chicken teriyaki was horrible so I sent it away (dry, overcooked and lacked flavor)

The fried appetizers aren’t very good, calamari seemed to just be generic frozen brand with Italian bread crumbs, and shrimp tempura had more breading than shrimp. To get your moneys worth I suggest ordering sushi first and trying any appetizers after. I think the seaweed salad portion should be half its size.

I recommend ordering the cake in advance and having it sit out for a bit (tastes better when it came to room temp than from coming straight out the fridge)

Overall the flavors are kind of weak but can be fixed up if you get eel sauce/mayo. Not bad for the price but definitely not high quality.

I’ll continue to come during lunch time after hitting the gym as they’re not as busy. They now have a 2hour eating limit which is very fair since they’re a fairly small restaurant.

First visit: Monday 2/12 at 6pm, waited 30mins for table for 1 (all tables have atleast 2 seats)

Second visit: Tuesday 2/27 at 1pm, no wait

Bathrooms are clean and staff are very nice (although I do wish they would leave me alone a bit more when it came to trying to converse when it was slow…I enjoy eating alone – would be nice to just put my order standing up on the table when service/waiter is needed).
