Mostly self-serve service (order on tablet, pickup food at counter, toss away trash and put away tray yourself). Food is super unique and delicious, highly recommend as I’ve never seen another place that offers this cuisine. Intriguing flavor combinations. Good portion sizes for the price – come hungry or expect to take leftovers. Seating setups are also very interesting, the place is cutely decorated but there’s some wonky chairs/tables.

drinks were really good! we got the pome lychee, blue citron, guava lemon and mango coconut oolong ice cream milk tea! food was good but pricey though for small portions. if i came back, i’d come back for the drinks only but i dont think i would because service was pretty off-putting. one younger woman behind the counter brought our food out in a bag since we ordered our food to-go, and when she saw us open the bag and start eating inside the cafe she asked us if we were eating there. When we answered yes, she passively responded with “Well next time, you can order your food for here then”. When I go out I always order my food to-go since I’m a smaller woman and I know sometimes I’m not able to finish all the food I order. It’s also just easier for me to pack it all up that way when I’m done, and I’ve never had a problem with it until now. After that happened, we all felt pretty uncomfortable with the passive aggressive nature of the employee but finished our drinks and continued chatting amongst ourselves until we were ready to go. And as expected, we did not finish our food so the to-go container and bag came in handy ☺️

Sweet new spot in College Park. It is a spin off of Northwest Chinese Restaurant one block away. The owners are very nice and friendly people and we always enjoy visiting their places. The new restaurant offers healthy Chinese food with a modern twist. Vegetarian and vegan options are available which I really appreciate. I especially enjoy their salad – it is so beautiful and tastes great. There is one issue with this new place that precludes me from going more frequently: they serve food and drinks in a single use containers. Generating a bunch of waste after each lunch doesn’t sit right with me.

This recently opened restaurant located in the building of the City Hall of College Park. Received warm welcome upon waking in. The food menu was on the left side wall and the drink menu was on the right side wall. The store looked modern and bright. There were two self ordering pads on the counter below the food menu. The Li Chun Bento Box came with the dishes as pictured. The Black Garlic Soy Seafood Fried Rice was served in paper bowl as pictured instead of Iron Plate in the name. The Northeast Sauerkraut X Beijing Sesame Sauce Bing came in a paper wrap that can be teared out at two positions, which was tasted good. The Strawberry Soy Hojicha was warm and special.

Excellent lattes! We tried the butter strawberry latte and mango latte at the recommendation of the staff, and we enjoyed them so much! The mango latte tastes like a mango lassi with a hint of espresso taste. The butter latte tastes like a mix of brown sugar latte with a hint of butterscotch and strawberry. Very nice mix of flavors. I would definitely come back for the butter strawberry latte again. I love that it isn’t too sweet.
They also have fresh baked goods made in-house. The one we wanted to try was already sold out for the day. We did try to strawberry mochi and my husband and daughter were not a fan of the crumby outside layer but I enjoyed it! It’s all about personal preference.
Update: we’ve come a few more times and their food and drinks have always been delicious. When eating the bing, just be careful as the sauce leaks through the paper wrap.

Got the mermaid drink (taro milk and foam) and I’m not sure if they forgot to add something or if the drink comes this way but it has ZERO sugar/ sweetness. Even the taro flavor was very mild, couldn’t taste the nuttiness or vanilla in it. Sea foam wasn’t salty either. This drink tasted like nothing.

It was better than expected! Both the noodle salad and the eggplant Bing were slightly modified but still bring the authentic tastes of northeast China.
The portion and price were decent for the entrees, but the drinks and desserts were definitely overpriced.
I appreciate the good service, as they served me water and extra plates even though I selected takeout but later decided to dine in.
The tables were all so tiny inside, but maybe that’s the vibe they were going for, and it fits well if you only order drinks and dessert.

Amazing new northern chinese store that is so well executed in contemporary design and branding. Absolutely adore this decor and design choice, huge win compared with other bland safe choices many restaurants choose.
Incredibly warm and friendly staff. Extremely clean and well maintained dining area with an unapologetic open kitchen that showcases great hygiene in and out of the kitchen.
Delish juan bing (rolled crepe) aka chinese burrito, not jian bing (folded crepe). Extremely nostalgic flavors that are not drowned in sauce and flavor. The coated paper wrapping needs a bit more work design wise, a bit too thin so it doesnt tear off cleanly without delaminating the inner waterproof coating side. Regardless, great choice for a fast and healthy lunch that isn’t boring Cava/Chipotle.
Mung bean noodle salad was also pretty good if you want to feel healthy haha.
Chili oil being $0.50 extra is a bummer, they should have a jar for dine-in customers to add haha.
Great choice on espresso bar setup with a big burr Malkonig and built in espresso group head. Ordered a great balanced affragato.
Powered by Square, integration working super well, ShakeShack-esque ordering process at the kiosk and at the cashier.

I was super excited to find a jianbing place near DC, as my favorite one in NoVa closed. Unfortunately, this is not the place for it.
The jianbing itself was okay, more bland and with less contrast of textures than normal (no crispyness, just soggy).
I got my order to go, and it was wrapped like a burrito and stood up vertically so that all the grease and liquid pooled at the bottom. I took it out and it had leaked through and got all over my jeans.

Li Chun Cafe is a gem! I tried the eggplant Bing with chili oil, and it was absolutely delicious—crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful inside, with just the right amount of heat. So filling and authentic! I also had the mango Taiji latte, and it was such a creative and refreshing drink, perfectly balancing fruity sweetness with creamy richness. Can’t wait to come back and try more!
