This place is something else. It’s been around for a while, but I only recently heard about it after reading it was one of the five must-try spots in St. Louis — and now I see why.

Walking in, the first thing you notice is the energy. Customers are smiling, clearly enjoying themselves, and that’s always a good sign. While looking over the menu, I asked a nearby table what they recommended. Without hesitation, one woman — literally licking the last bit off her plate — told me: chili oil wontons. That’s where the experience began.

Let’s start there. The chili oil wontons are packed with flavor. The dumplings themselves are perfectly seasoned, and the chili oil adds a bold, aromatic kick that ties everything together beautifully. Watching them hand-make the dumplings fresh while preparing orders is the cherry on top — it’s the kind of detail that instantly elevates the experience.

Next came the beef and chicken sandwiches. Both were nestled in that perfect in-between layer of crispy and fried bread that adds texture without overwhelming the fillings. The beef sandwich stood out with its mix of green onions and cabbage, bringing freshness and crunch. The chicken version, fried and drizzled with honey butter, delivered a sweet-savory balance that worked surprisingly well.

The shrimp dumplings were fresh with a clean, classic flavor — the kind that gets even better with a touch of soy sauce or chili oil. But one of the biggest highlights of the meal was the shrimp and cheese pan-fried dumplings. “Amazing” honestly feels like an understatement. Juicy filling, crispy golden bottoms, soft tops — the texture contrast alone makes them memorable. They’re so light and addictive you could easily go through multiple orders before realizing it.

The chicken shumai followed the same pattern: fresh, flavorful filling and well-balanced seasoning. Everything tasted thoughtfully made and consistent.

To finish, we tried the mango boba. It was nicely balanced — not overly sweet, with a bright mango flavor and perfectly cooked boba pearls that had just the right chew.

Service was friendly and welcoming, and the staff kept things moving smoothly. Overall, this is absolutely a must-try spot. It’s quickly topped other places we used to go for similar bites, and it’s definitely somewhere we’ll be coming back to. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates fresh, flavorful comfort food done right.

Never get over here so we love to try new places. They had good ratings so we tried and were NOT disappointed!!
We had: Beef sandwich (yes you heard correct) which was a bit like Asian BBQ. Loved it. I had pan fried chicken dumplings which were amazing! We tried the broccoli which was cold and with garlic and loved that. We also had the spring rolls and the sauce is the best I’ve ever had. We really enjoyed the calm music playing during our meal. We will definitely return!! You def should give it a try!!!

Ordered to-go and drove about 30 minutes home because we had two little kids with us — and the food was STILL phenomenal. The chili wontons were delicious and not spicy like I expected. The sticky rice shumai was top-tier, and even the broccoli somehow earned a 5/5. Staff was friendly, welcoming, and kept me updated while I waited. Will 100% be back!

Handmade, delicious food! Dumplings made to order, right in front of you if you wish! My personal favorite was the chicken sandwich! It was planco fried with a sweet mayo on top sandwich between a fresh croissant bun. It was so delicious!!!!

Was in town for a conference and chanced upon this place because a friend wanted to try it.
The soup dumplings were decent, but I was surprised to find Roujiamou on the menu! It’s a dish that is hard to find. The Shao Bing were nice and flavorful and flaky. The meat was good. Would definitely come back next time I’m in town!

Update: we’ve probably been ten times and turned several friends onto Fan’s. My go-to order: beef sandwich, pan-fried pork soup dumplings, shrimp shumai, and edamame.

We’ve been four times and have tried most of dumpings on the menu. We liked all the items we tried…especially the pork (pan fried or steamed) dumplings, shrimp shumai, and chili wonton. Need to come back and try the sandwiches. Lots of dipping sauces on each table: soy, a vinegar based sauce, and chili oil. Staff was very friendly. We’ll be back often.

Excellent soup dumplings and pork shumai! The star of the meal was the chili oil wonton. Don’t be scared off by the chili oil. It is not too spicy.

In the past few years I have come to enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine after a lifetime of Missouri Chinese restaurants, which I still enjoy, but there is a difference.
So on a recent trip to the St, Louis area we discovered Fan’s Asian Corner in St. Charles, Mo. serving soup dumplings and authentic Chinese sandwiches.
The dumplings were like what I had in restaurants in Malaysia and China. Steamed were soft with a liquid in the interior with the shrimp. Pan fried was crispy but soft. The shrimp and cheese was a delicious combination.
I was told that the sandwiches were a style that is specific to a particular area in China. The bread was soft and flaky. The pork was similar to pulled pork, but with different seasonings. The chicken was fried with a sweet, tangy sauce.
We enjoyed the food so much that we ordered more to take home and it was just as delicious when reheated.
We plan to visit again next time we are in the area.

Food – fresh and hot and fast. Everything was cooked to order. When compared to another popular soup dumpling spot that’s deeper in the St. Louis… these aren’t the absolute best but they are worth trying. Their spring rolls were really good, but nothing to freak out about.

Service: Quick and non-memorable. But we got what we needed within time so it’s fine

Atmosphere: The decorations in here were great, the place was obviously clean and well kept. The music was appropriate for the theme of Asian cuisine and it kind of felt like you were actually experiencing another culture. Nothing drives me more crazy than going into a restaurant that’s themed of a certain country and they’re playing modern American music. The only thing that was very offputting is that they use Styrofoam plates? So it kind of messes up the aesthetic of the steam bun containers.

nevertheless it was delicious worth a shot of trying to see if you like it! I wouldn’t recommend it to go because the soup of the soup dumpling soaks up into the outer layer. They also didn’t have as much soup in each bite as I would like compared to soup dumplings I’ve had before, but I still like them!

I’ve been coming here since they did their “soft-opening”. I hit this spot at least twice a month to bring my family some dumplings for movie night. All the ones i’ve tried are good (steamed and pan-fried), but I gravitate towards the pan-fried pork dumplings.

Their pickled cucumber is also very nice and refreshing. A welcomed surprise!

Whatever y’all are doing… keep it coming!
