We stopped here for lunch and were delighted with everything, the service, the food, the atmosphere!

The miso soup was the best we’ve ever tried. The sushi was crafted with care and was amazing.

The spot is unassuming, but very well kept. With minimalist decor but you can tell much care went into it.

We had a nice quiet lunch with lovely service.

Highly recommended!

Wow, what a neat place, sushi was excellent, best tasting miso I have ever had. Sushi was precisely made with true professionalism and care. Not thick with rice, just enough to taste the fish. I have had a lot of sushi. This one of my best experiences! Bravo

Been going to this spot all throughout high school — the food is amazing and the owners are extremely kind. I never tipped well since I was a broke high school student, but their service and attitude did not change one bit. The food is AMAZING — the takoyaki was always my favorite (I don’t think I’ve had a single meal here without it as an appetizer). The karaage don is also very good, as well as the salmon tataki.

Overall, the best combo in my opinion would be: miso soup, takoyaki, fried sweet potato (don’t remember the name for it lol), karaage don, and salmon tataki. The prices might be a bit high to some, but in my opinion, totally worth it for the quality and flavor of the food, as well as the service they provide.

This place will forever be one of, if not the most memorable restaurants in my life. The amount of positive things I have to say about this place is kinda insane even to myself, but that comes from a combination of their service, the food, the atmosphere, and the memories I’ve made there.

Thank you for the great service, food, and atmosphere you guys provided (and sorry for not tipping well lol — you guys definitely deserved more). I hope to visit you again in the future!

Time to Edit my review after several More visits. The original comments still stand : Excellent quality. Everything was prepared with care and precision.

I want to add that the atmosphere is so quiet and relaxed. Just a great spot to sit and enjoy some good quality food. Great options for Sushi in the Bedford /Hammonds Plains area.

I have spent more time chatting with the owners and they are really great people who make this place work. They are part of the intangibles that make the us place work.

The sushi presentation is nice, and the fish tastes fresh. However, the portions are on the smaller side—especially the rolls—and the prices feel a bit high ($8 for four small gyoza). Spicy salmon was a bit too saucy and salty. Overall, I felt a little underwhelmed given the cost, but I do appreciate supporting a smaller local shop, and the owners were very kind and welcoming.

My family had always wanted to try sushi with raw salmon. Thank you, Sushi Kawa, for giving me the opportunity to fulfill my wife and kids’ wish—especially on my wife’s birthday!

My first sushi experience, the people are very kind here too (located next to tinapé in Bedford), I had no allergies afterwards. The presentation and taste remains fresh in my memory.

First time here, visiting from out of town and was in the area. Great little sushi shop. Food was fresh and delicious. Prices very reasonable. Give this place a try if you’re in the area and craving sushi!

I had the pleasure of visiting this place purely based on a recommendation by friends who raved about their rolls. I had some salmon rolls, spicy tuna rolls and unagi rolls. I was very impressed with the subtle layered flavour of the rolls. The sauce in the rolls was just right and the salmon and tuna they used were very tasty and fresh! I also enjoyed the Nagasaki Champon ramen (I asked them to make it Korean-style spicy). Will definitely visit again.

Highly recommend Sushi Kawa! They use high quality and fresh ingredients with lots of attention to detail. I especially loved the double mon roll as lemon zest added a unique flavor. The tempura bento box was also a good deal as you tried many items and also got miso soup and salad. The house salad was Kale salad which was delicious and first time I’d seen something other than lettuce being offered as house salad. The customer service was excellent. I will surely be visiting again
