Eating here was the best part of my day. We started with some homemade tortilla chips, salsas, and black beans. As a carb addict, I’m usually happy just chowing down on chips and nothing else. But. These. Beans. [bites fist] These beans were ridiculously good. Warm, creamy, tender, garlicky goodness. I finished the basket of chips because I couldn’t stop eating the amazing combo.

We also ordered the enchiladas with green sauce and the chicken mole (before I knew I was going to binge on chips and beans). The enchiladas were “deconstructed” — the homemade tortillas rolled up and smothered in the green sauce with the tender chicken breast resting on top. The Oaxacan-style mole was rich and smoky; chunks of chicken submerged in the mix. Both came with rice and the black beans.

I ate until I was painfully full. And still I couldn’t resist using a chip or two to scrape the last of the beans from my plate. My friend got horchata to go, but I was too full. Then I tried a sip of the horchata and wished I had my own cup. The horchata was lightly flavored with cinnamon and nutmeg, and had tiny flecks of lime zest that balanced the creaminess remarkably well.

This cozy, family-run restaurant is very welcoming and delightful — an understated treasure in Atlantic City. If I ever come back to AC, I’m definitely eating here. And wearing pants with an elastic waistband.

Great food. Serviced steaming hot. The fresh handmade tortillas were amazing.
I couldn’t decided between the chicken mole or the chicharron and the waitress instantly said the mole.

I wanted to stay for dessert but I had some back at the hotel room.

The atmosphere was bright and festive.

Only down side is there isn’t any beers here.

A hidden gem, with delicious food. I had a to go order for 1. The chicken burrito. I paid under $21.00 for all the food seen in my photos. I got rice, beans and a large salad and a free drink. The salad was very fresh and stands as a meal by itself. I had food for 2 days since it was just me. I will return to this location. Parking can be tricky since the location is on a busy one way street so map out your driving plan ahead of time. Very nice restaurant cannot wait to return. I forgot to mention I was given a free piece of birthday cake. It may be because it was near closing time. But it was nice of them to do that.

A Hidden Gem for Authentic Mexican Flavors in Atlantic City

Tucked away on a run down street in Atlantic City, this unassuming Mexican restaurant is a true hole-in-the-wall worth discovering. From the moment we walked in, the extensive menu made choosing a challenge—everything sounded incredible!

We settled on the chicken torta and green chicken enchiladas, but the meal started with: fresh chips served with both green and red salsas, plus a surprise side of *black beans topped with queso fresco*. The beans were an unexpected but delicious twist—far from the usual refried beans, and so flavorful!

The torta was unlike any I’ve had before ( it was huge and we saved half for later)—the chicken was crispy and breaded, which was a happy surprise. Packed with fresh tomatoes, lettuce, onions, beans, and mayo, every bite was a burst of flavor. It came with a side of hot, freshly fried fries, which were perfect.

The enchiladas were equally impressive—tender chicken wrapped in soft *homemade* tortillas, smothered in a vibrant green sauce. Instead of melted cheese, they were topped with crumbled *queso fresco*, a lighter but equally tasty touch. The side of black beans (again, so good!) and rice complemented the dish well.

What stood out most was how fresh and piping hot everything was—clearly made to order. The flavors felt homemade and authentic, a rare find in the area.

If you’re craving “real”Mexican food in Atlantic City, don’t let the modest location fool you. This place is a must-try—I’ll definitely be back!

This restaurant was a nice cozy spot. The food was fresh and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was fun. Authentic Mexican food and not overly greasy like most Mexican restaurants. I got the Carnitas plate, but everything that came out of the kit he’d looked amazing.

Please avoid coming here if you can. The restaurant is located in a very sketchy area. We came around 6pm and a homeless person was walking up and down the sidewalk right in front of the restaurant. In addition, after being seated in the restaurant, another homeless person was going around harassing every table for money. One of the waitresses came out to tell the person to leave which they did, but not before throwing a tantrum. They also left behind a horrible stench that made enjoying our food impossible. The food was mediocre. I ordered the soft pork tacos and my friend ordered the chicken tacos. Both were bland despite us dousing them in lime and salsa. I also ordered a hibiscus water. On the menu, it was $4. When we got the check, it was $7. The waitress told me she got me the 32 oz so she charged me for the large which was NOWHERE on the menu. She changed the bill when I asked her why she thought to give me the 32oz versus the regular. Aside from this singular mishap, the service was decent. Less than a block away is Panchos, and they were very crowded as compared to this restaurant where there was only us. Listen to the locals!

The closest to authentic Mexican!

We been going to this joint 3 days in a WEEK!!!

The first time we came my wife and I, we ordered a chicken soup which was filled with 3 pieces of chicken and the broth had a nice red Chile color and was nicely spicy and she got SOPES… Both dishes were delicious and the drinks were Agua de Jamaica.

The second time we brought the kids and we had quesadillas, nachos, CHILAQUILES and enchiladas verdes and we loved everything my kids were happy and really satisfied the portions were good (probably my chilaquiles dish would need a little more )… But everything was really tasty.

The third time… (yes! in the same week ) we stopped by before a long drive and she was craving the TAMALES!!! So she ordered it and they were so really tasty, the order is five pieces, they are wrapped in banana leaves and the aroma of the steaming banana leaves was inviting to dig in right away … I ordered the Carnitas dish and again not disappointing!! Very good size portion served with tortillas, salsas Chiles toreados and a little bowl of rice and beans… Everything was great…
I know every person has a different taste but what I mean is that at least my whole family liked it and I would say that’s a good sign … Wish good luck to the restaurant and keep coming the good food!
