So I see an add online for PJ’s and their fresh made beignets and think I’ll surprise my woman with a visit there for lunch.
It was about a fifteen minute drive to get there, I was excited for our first visit, hoping to score a couple of brownie points.
So we go inside and I order two lunch combos. Was gonna actually get three. My son expressed interest in the Cuban sandwich so I was gonna take one home to him.
The two young ladies there were so friendly but said I’m sorry we only have breakfast sandwiches. It was 2:00 so we were definitely not in the mood for a breakfast sandwich.
So we decided to pick another place to eat but I asked to get an order of beignets to go for our dessert later.
I told the girls that was the main reason for our visit anyway.
The young lady said I’m so sorry but our beignet machine is broke. We have a part on order.
I’m like what an epic failure on what I thought was gonna be a nice lunch with my woman.
So I had a nice lunch with my wife but it was at the pizza joint down the street. Bummer.
Atmosphere: cute and chic for what it’s worth. I dig the mardi grais theme. Clean and straight forward. Plenty of seating and two restrooms. Although there was a sign stating one had an issue.
Service: I would go back. No qualms. Gen Z stare was there.
Food: I enjoyed a plain hot coffee and sips of my wife’s mocha. The food was good and hot. It wasn’t out of this world, not memorable, but definitely not bad either.
Cost: I did not check out so I’m not sure of the cost to food ratio, but I have a feeling it’s reasonable to worth it.
On the positive side, the cashier and staff were very friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciated. The shop itself has potential, though I think the ambiance could be improved with slightly darker, cozier lighting to make it feel more comfortable.
I might give this place another try with a different drink, since the service was great—I just wasn’t impressed with the iced mocha this time around.
