Amazing gem of a restaurant right here in the heart of Hartsville. Farmers Harvest has outstanding farm fresh food, and you can taste the difference right away! I loved the Hot Dill Chicken Sandwich and my wife loved her Sarichi Chicken sandwich. My kids ate every bit of their fresh beef mini burger and chicken tenders! To top it all off, they even have ice cream! The prices were more than fair. There is even a very cool ‘Speakeasy’ to come and get cocktails. We can’t wait to come back again soon!

This is an awesome place for home cooked southern staples in a relaxed friendly environment. My husband and I went here for dinner on a night they had a massive steak selection. The food was so well seasoned and it was an extremely comfortable atmosphere.

Lately my husband and I have preferred to just cook a good steak at home because they have all been extremely disappointing when going to a restaurant. This was not the case at Farmers Harvest.

They are open Thursdays-Saturdays for lunch and dinner. The menu regularly changes based on what is in season and available and can be found on their social media. We ate so much in terms of the appetizer platter and our meals that we didn’t try any of the home made deserts but we will definitely come back to do so and we will probably get a scoop of the Shop Springs Creamery ice cream that they stock as well.

We visited Farmers Harvest for the first time tonight to celebrate my son’s 8th birthday. He specifically requested steak, and we were excited to support a local restaurant and try something new. We called the day before to let them know we would have a party of 17 arriving at 6:30. We were told it was first come, first served and that they would try to keep larger tables open. When we arrived, we were quoted about an hour wait, which we expected and were completely fine with.

Unfortunately, once seated, the experience declined quickly.

Our server informed us upfront that gratuity would be added due to party size, which we fully understand. Many at our table have worked in the service industry, and we would have gladly tipped above the automatic gratuity for good service.

After ordering, we waited approximately an hour and a half just to receive our appetizers. During that same time, we waited an hour and a half for drink refills. Immediately after appetizers were brought out, we were informed they were out of the sides we had originally ordered. Replacement options were limited to fries, tots, or chips. When I chose corn instead, I was later told they had just given out the last bowl. We were also told they were out of baked potatoes, yet we watched multiple baked potatoes served to other tables afterward.

When our steak for two finally arrived.. nearly two hours after being seated- it was cooked well done instead of medium. I said I did not want to wait for another to be cooked and would simply keep it. Despite that, my plate was removed anyway. Shortly after, our server stood within earshot of our table speaking negatively about me to other staff, which was overheard by our family.

Nothing was offered to compensate for the delays or incorrect meal. There wasn’t even an apology given by the server that took terrible care of us yet made 20% off of everyone’s bills. And she sent another server to deliver our checks while the original server processed our payments without speaking to us. Once we told her about the incident she did take off the steak for two..

We understand busy nights and staffing challenges. Like I said many of us have wired in the service industry. What’s difficult to overlook is the lack of professionalism and courtesy….
especially during a child’s birthday celebration. That we in fact didn’t get to celebrate, because we boxed up our food and left.

We will not be returning.

I love this place!
It is so yum!
Sad it’s only open 3 days a week but I totally understand why.
Sweet tea is always 10/10
Ice cream is super yummy (when they have the better favors in stock haha)
Definitely try this restaurant!
I will say the downfall is wait times. I’m not talking order to table turnaround every now and then I’m talking if there’s a large party in the back room you might not know the amount of orders that you’re behind in the kitchen. I wish before you’re seated that they tell if you the projected wait time do you can make an informed decision. I’ve seen people get there drinks, order, wait, wait with kids at the table, then have to leave because their kids became restless and impatient. This restaurant knows kids and their wait limits. In my opinion you’ll either loose business at the door from customers making a choice to wait or loose business at the table from them leaving early. I’d just be cognizant of that.
I also understand lunch specials being lunch specials but there should be enough to run into the dinner selection too for the people who can’t catch the lunch time.

Good food and friendly service. Chef salad was very good. Also recommend the spinach dip and the fried pepper jack cheese balls. The ice cream is outstanding so make sure you save room for some. It was Christmastime so I got the peppermint bark and it might be the best mint ice cream I’ve ever had.

Great food, farm to table recipes. Burgers were so fresh and tasty. Loved the crispy fries. Dessert was homemade peach cobbler with a scoop of ice cream. They have several daily special. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked yummy. All the ladies were super nice and they have their own ice cream parlor!

The menus need a little refresh and update. They have stickers on them that say prices are 30% more than listed.

The burgers were tender and juicy. A little on the smaller side for a $10 burger. Everything is al a cart which increases the prices even more.

The fries are fried in vegetable oil which tastes like they have not changed in in years. It has a strong resemblance of the shrimp and fish fry. Very disappointing.

The ice cream is fairly basic. Made by a local creamery but nothing special. Note- the one scoop is not worth it. It’s a smaller size scoop then they use for the two scoop. Just use the same size scoop.

For our first time I’ll say this: The double cheeseburger was good. No problem. Wife liked her chicken salad croissant. My main complaint was that the prices on the menu were a whole lot less than the actual price. I never saw the price change on the menu so clearly I was shocked at the real price at the end.
I think the owners need to take the time to update their menus. Would help I’m sure. Wasn’t real happy about it. But again the food was good.

This was our first visit. The place was clean. There were not enough servers for the amount of customers. We ordered the steak for two. We ordered the steaks medium rare. When they brought the steaks out they were medium well. The server was very nice and said she had noticed that this happens often. She took them back to be redone. We finished our salad and baked potatoes which were good and then we waited and waited and finally got the steaks. Sadly, they were still overcooked. We went ahead and ate them but we will not be going back.
