Fries were great and fish was perfectly (lightly) battered. We tried all the fish – I liked the rockfish best but my husband’s favorite was the traditional cod. All were delicious!!

YUM! Best fish and chips I’ve had in Portland. They even carry local rockfish. Extra bonus having locally sourced fresh seafood! Breading wasn’t too heavy. Fish was tender and flaky like I enjoy. Fries were tasty and perfect. My husband and I were clamoring to inhale them all. The chowder was good, had a bit of spice (unexpected). Enjoyed it but would rank fish, chips then chowder in order of preference. Staff was warm in greeting.very helpful in helping me dial in my options as everything looked so good!

Wasn’t sure I would be able to try the GF fish I came for because the card machine was down… but an acceptable deal was made Appreciate the great customer service! They were out of a few varieties of fish, so I decided on Cod. Tender and Crispy! The sauces were a nice compliment. I enjoyed the acidity of the cocktail sauce with the mild cod.

Best fried fish in Portland since batterfish closed. Super friendly knowledgeable service, affordable prices for a good size portion of food, hefty helping of s&p fries (skin on) SO DELICIOUS! Every time I come to these carts I walk around the whole place and always end up going with Tall Boy fish and chips.

HANDS DOWN, THE BEST FISH AND CHIPS IN PORTLAND!!! Are you looking for perfectly seasoned and battered fish? Hoping the fries are crunchy and delicious? Wishing the tartar sauce is tasty AF?! Look no further! I was introduced to this fantastic food cart today, and I know I will be back OFTEN. It’s worth a drive from the west side… And I mean deep west side (Beaverton). The staff couldn’t have been nicer, the portion couldn’t have filled me up more perfectly… And the jalapeño Lemonade was incredibly refreshing. DEFINITELY give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.

The owner was super friendly and nice and the salmon chowder was amazing! Flavored perfectly! Love that they don’t put pork in their chowders! Can’t wait to come back and try the fish!!

My first time trying Rockfish and it did not disappoint the batter on the fish is not too heavy. I usually can’t eat more than a couple fried fish but I tried every single one! My favorite was the cod (which was slightly meatier than the lingcod) and the rockfish which was also a slightly meaty fish! Highly recommend!! 10/10

Best fried fish on the west coast. No hyperbole
I worked at one of the highest rated chippies in New England back in the ‘80s. The cod and chips I had from Tall Boy was the best I’ve ever had. Perfect batter. Perfect cook on the fish. The fries held up underneath. A decent tartar on the side. Fish and chips does not get better than that
