Best little family owned coffee shop for miles around! Worth a stop off I65 or a drive out 222. They have more than just coffee! Cider, teas, seasonal specials! Every barista is friendly, and there is always a puzzle in progress or a chair with a book waiting for you. Grab and go or sit and relax.

I drove for a while looking for this coffee shop. The drive was worthed! The matcha latte was delicious and the coffee as well. The owners Lisa and Brian were supper friendly. I’m sorry I can’t remember the name of the barista.
I will definitely go back when I visit KY.

Passing through Kentucky and found this hidden gem! Anna was super kind and knowledgeable, we loved her service. She answered all our questions both coffee and business related. This business is deep in its family roots, and you can definitely feel it when you walk in the door here. At Anna’s recommendation, we had the blueberry lemon tea latte and the cherry blossom latte. We loved them both! We loved everything about Mike’s coffee. Can’t recommend it enough.

I tried coming here twice and the hours were wrong, no updates on social or Google. When I finally was able to come in during the hours the store was cute. There are fun options on the menu but a lot of things are sweet and the lattes aren’t as good as other places. Staff is nice and the place is cute. The town is cute too but that’s about it for me. I’d only stop in if it were on the way.

I had the chocolate cold foam cold brew and loved it! Anytime I’m driving past Glendale, I’ll definitely make a stop at my new favorite coffee shop. They also have a puzzle swap, and there’s almost always someone working on a puzzle. It’s such a great place to unwind with a cup of coffee if you have the time.

I was asked to leave this coffee shop permanently after being told that my conversations made staff feel unsafe.
I felt unsafe when I was also told that another business had been contacted as part of a systematic and systemic reference check about me. I know exactly which business this refers to because it is the only other establishment I had mentioned in conversation here, and my experience there was also based on mischaracterizations of my communication style, rather than “inappropriate” behavior.
That business had also approached me with a discomfort projected onto me because of their inability to label me, and place me neatly into a specific category.
I am someone who communicates openly and directly with people. In this space that included discussing things like movies, ADHD traits, human behavior, my way of viewing the world through my own lens, objective comments about songs playing on an overhead speaker, and questions about snippets of conversations that I’d overheard within the five year time frame that I’ve patronized this place.
I understand that what is labeled as “inappropriate” can be open to interpretation, but nothing that I spoke of was intended to push the boundaries that were suddenly being imposed upon me. I don’t think that what I demonstrated was anything less than curiosity, and an attempt to engage and connect.
When I was informed of the ban, I listened to and processed what the owner had to say, while noticing details about his tone, demeanor, and the sense of dread that I was going through internally, due to the infantilization that was being pressured upon me, like the suggestion that I not carry my perceived actions into other areas.
I stood up, placed my coffee cup in the dirty dish bin, and walked out without acknowledging the owner’s attempt at a final, polite word. At this point, politeness was no longer relevant, or appropriate.
This place is a safe space for people who like to hedge conversation into tidy little boxes, and tuck them neatly away. Because I am open, I am a threat to that order. My ban was based on liability and risk assessment, social rigidity, and the mapping of intentions onto my persona as a result of that.
The impression that I left with is that my presence here was “dangerous.” “Dangerous” in the sense that ambiguity is something you cannot contain. But throwing off labels like “problem” onto someone whose experiences you do not understand on a deeper level is no less “dangerous.”

Nice place with a southern hospitality feel. It’s a bit out of the way, but the cappuccino was worth it. Hunger hit during the visit around 3pm, but unfortunately all they had for food was a display of what they normally have in stock. Sure could have gone for a brownie. Regardless, the barista was friendly and courteous and made us feel ultra welcome.

A friend of mine told me about Mountain Mike’s Coffee in Glendale, and it’s a fantastic little spot to visit while you’re exploring the shops in the area. It’s definitely the first place you should stop by so you can enjoy your coffee while walking around.
