Nothing wowed me but the Cesar salad. It was amazing.
The calamari was good, but not authentic in my opinion.
The Veal Parmigiana was just ok. I expected the breading to be more authentic and the sauce seemed to be watery. It was really good I just expected so much more. I did ask for sauce on the side based on other reviews and pictures showing way more sauce on the plate than I wanted.
The service was good but nothing that was over the top. The pricing was reasonable and great for larger parties.
It’s a good place and everything was clean.
Food was great, their Greg’s Lasagna is the closest lasagna in Oklahoma to the lasagna that you will find in New Jersey. My wife hasn’t been able to find New Jersey styled lasagna anywhere in Oklahoma yet, so we will definitely be coming back for the lasagna.
I had the Tortellini Diablo but with Alfredo sauce instead of spicy marinara sauce. It was one of two specials of the day. It was good but the sliced vegetables were huge and not easy to eat as it came. Seemed like a lot of prepping at the table before it could actually be consumed. Not sure if all their dishes come with abnormally large chunks of vegetables, so it’s best to come with the mind set that you will have to finish prepping your food before consuming.
Most Italian restaurants bring bread to your table shortly after being seated so you can enjoy eating the bread while waiting for your entree but not here, they don’t bring the bread to your table until they are bringing your entree also. We even asked for the bread but were told it would come with our meal. So we ordered a Garlic Bread with Cheese appetizer that took a little bit to arrive at the table but at least didn’t arrive with the entrees. So we didn’t even try the complimentary bread at the restaurant and had it for left overs back home.
They do offer specials occasionally, it was half priced pizza night when we visited but our waitress never told us and we only found out by over hearing another table being told. Also the daily special isn’t really a special in regards to price but that it isn’t always on the menu. I wouldn’t have ordered the special if I was aware of the price before hand. Also there are no prices on their desert menu but we liked their abundance of choices of desserts. The Turtle New York Cheesecake was delicious but is not a traditional turtle cheesecake but is a regular slice of cheesecake that comes with caramel sauce and a Hershey’s chocolate syrup.
The menu is packed with incredible options, but a few standouts have to be The Pat’s Special, a mouthwatering blend of rich flavors that will keep you coming back, and the pizza—some of the best you’ll ever have. And let’s not forget the Angels Balsamic, a dish so divine it lives up to its heavenly name. Every bite at Othello’s is crafted with care and tradition.
The heart and soul of this restaurant are its incredible owners—Nancy, Jennifer, Bob, and Tammy. Their passion for great food and warm hospitality shines through in every aspect of Othello’s. They’ve created a space where friends and family gather, celebrate, and savor. A special mention goes to Pat Peters, their right-hand man, who works tirelessly to ensure the experience is top-notch every single time.
Whether you’re in Norman or Edmond, Othello’s is a true treasure. From the food to the service to the friendly faces, it’s everything you could ask for in a local Italian restaurant. Don’t walk—run to Othello’s!
I made a reservation for New Year’s Eve, which also happens to be my partners birthday. Called two days prior and scheduled a reservation for 7:30, also specifically for a booth and upstairs booth since it would have been quieter. Upon arrival they attempted to sit us at a table. I asked to be moved to a booth upstairs but they said they weren’t seating people upstairs. To avoid confrontation we took the downstairs booth.
Overall a fantastic place and would highly recommend!
Had happy hour app of fried cheese, Spaghetti and meatballs, pasta with 1/2 Alfredo and 1/2 mushroom sauce, salad and bread. Everything was wonderful. The pace of service was perfect. The appetizer came out first, then the salads, then the entrée with time to enjoy each. Some restaurants stack them all on top of you at the same time where you can’t enjoy them. Not here, timing was just right! Highly recommended.
