Such a cute spot, with great coffee, muffins and a great place to grab some touristy stuff/gifts. Good parking as well had a 25ft RV and stopped in the morning on the way through for coffee.
Appreciated the vintage items they had from the original store and the bathroom was a welcomed and clean environment as well.

Great new addition to Port Alberni! I love how they have kept the old signs, the history, from days gone by, it gives a really cool vintage feel to the decor. There is lots of charm at this spot. The items for sale, beside the food and drink, are so unique and some things are super cute, like the pine cone stuffy! Definitely a new stop for coffee and peruse.

The atmosphere should get TEN stars. It’s a perfectly restored bit of Canadiana with vintage touches everywhere from the old-fashioned appliances to the signage on the walls to the nostalgic gifts and products they carry. Delicious coffee and muffins, a collection of lending books and games, and an old-fashioned candy counter. I came here on a book promotion tour and it was one of my favorites. Totally worth a stop.

The kitsch is thick in here and it’s lovely!

Like walking back in time to an old school soda jerks but it’s the perfect coffee bar, with fresh frozen dinners and a tonne of local art and gifts.

All the hot liquid drinks are yummy! Yes all!

The baked treats are great too, try the ranger cookie for all morning energy.

1 – Of all the coffee shops I tried, this place had the best coffee
2 – The interior of the place is amazingly decorated, you feel like being transported back in time

I was planning on taking coffee to go, but ended up sitting there for a while, admiring the insane amount of work that was put in to transform this place on what it is today. There is a book with some pictures showing the owner’s journey, it was really inspiring!

We had coffees on a Sunday afternoon. The place was mildly busy. Service was fast and friendly. The coffees and hot chocolate were great. We much recommend The Riverbend if you’re on the road near their location.

Our must stop place for coffee and treats whenever we’re in the area. Love the 50’s style decor – you can tell they’ve spent a tonne of energy and put a lot of love into the place. I really love the local goods and gifts, particularly the mushroom themed gifts.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
We love dropping in here!

Updating to say the coffee was so good we went back this morning! ☕

Incredible coffee/gift shop! So unique and so west coast vibe! Love the displays, the coffee, the treats, the decor from locally made bird houses, mushroom themed-felt hats, glass art, pottery, books, FN art, Quebec Maple flavored coke, and more

We stopped here on our way to Tofino. Beautiful selection of local gifts, books and art greet you when you walk in. The building is welcoming and clean, with a lovely and accessible washroom. Best of all, my flat white was absolute perfection. There is a nice patio area in the back as well.

We order 4 specialty drinks , 2 were room temperature. When we asked if they had a microwave that maybe they could warm our drinks the Barista / person working said know and that’s the temperature they serve them at. Because it’s a liability, and she could refrith it as it may contaminate the machine which I understand but so so offensive basically kinda rude. She finally said she would make them again. So she made one again, they other person declined as the server took so long that she felt guilty getting an actual warm beverage because she was 1/3 done. Not sure I’d go back!!
