We ended up at Buzzetta’s Italian Cafe by accident during a surprise date night, and it turned into one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time.
Before our entrées even arrived, the bread service completely won me over. Warm bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic, topped with Parmesan… I think this might officially be my new favorite way to eat bread. Simple, elevated, and absolutely delicious.
I ordered the salmon special over risotto, and it was hands down the best salmon I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor. The risotto was creamy and balanced beautifully with the fish. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared.
My husband had the Papardelle Pepperoni, and it was just as impressive. The pasta was fresh and hearty, and the sauce had incredible depth. You can taste the quality ingredients.
The only minor downside was that our table was a bit close to another table. It didn’t ruin the experience, but for such an intimate, upscale atmosphere, a little more spacing would have made it even better. That said, everything else more than made up for it.
Yes, it’s a splurge, but the food, atmosphere, and overall experience made it completely worth it. What started as a surprise date night turned into a truly special evening.
We’ll absolutely be back.

Really great new restaurant in the space formerly occupied by Filippo’s. Same extended family and some similar dishes.

Stopped in because Oishi was doing a remodel of some sort and that’s where we were headed. Given the student driver had already parked, I went with a choice I could see. Damn glad I did!

We started with calamari. Very nicely done and obviously not fresh off the Cisco truck. I appreciated the light breading and fact that you could actually taste the squid. Hidden menu note: it’s served on a bed of their fantastic flash-fried spinach so this is really two apps for the price of one.

I had the tortellini next. As I said to basically every employee in the house, it was absolute perfection. I consider tortellini an eating extravagance in terms of fat & calories so when I order it, I have high expectations. They were exceeded.

We were full so we skipped dessert. Maybe next time…

Buzzetta’s is a beautiful place, complete with black and white linens on the tables. Leslie was excellent, low key but she stayed on top of everything and was especially familiar with the menu which is always appreciated. The bread service is sesame seed YUMMY, I’m guessing it’s sourced from the Hill. I went with two specials: Sicilian sea bass and a chopped Italian salad. The salad was very well prepared but the dressing was too ordinary–the dressing is everything to me. I prefer a somewhat sweet Italian dressing or something more St. Louis style with a milder vinegar note. The sea bass was excellent! The char from the Sicilian prep was scrumptious and it was also cooked to perfection. Hubby ordered the tortellini (he’s an expert ha ha). He said it was good, but he’s had better; it was a little bland and thought something like bacon would be the remedy. We got their limoncello layer cake and loved it. Perfect tartness and I was subsequently mad I didn’t order my own piece. 🙂

Stopped into Buzzettas for dinner and it did not disappoint. Some of the best Italian I’ve had in STL.

We got toasted ravioli and meatballs to start off. Breading for the ravs was delicious, meatballs were flavorful and juicy.

The Sicilian Chicken was 10/10 would get again. The breading was perfect and the chicken was juicy. Also got the parpadelle pepperoni pasta, very light sauce with immense flavor.

Desserts topped off the night. Tiramisu was delicious, as well as the chocolate cake. The salted caramel cheese was outstanding. Chocolate cake wasn’t really cake, more like a mouse texture.

Another amazing experience at Buzzetta’s! I had the Sicilian Chicken and my husband had the Shrimp Diavolo. My chicken was cooked perfectly with a delicate, but super flavorful sauce. The shrimp was spicy, as he likes it. Our server, Adrian, was one of the best we’ve had in a long time. The evening was topped off with the owner’s own limoncello. Can’t wait to come back.

Solo traveler that randomly found this place on Google. How many reviews but with a high rating of 4.8 I gave it a whirl.

Service was great with very warm and welcoming staff it was great. From the front host to the last busboy who boxed up my meal for me.

I didn’t know Italian food was a thing here in St Louis before today. My waiter recommended the Linguine Del Mar which is what my wife normally orders all the time when we eat Italian. So I had my fair share of this dish.

This dish was so good I felt like I was cheating on my Wife. The guilt I had while eating her favorite dish and it tasting so amazing with out her. Usually this dish is gritty because of the clams and seafood but I found it was a very clean well executed. I would say it was THE best Linguine I ever had that was balanced with the red pepper flakes spice that was just right. The Pasta was cooked to perfection with just the right chew.

I don’t even remember what else I even ordered because the linguine was so amazing.

So the Google reviewers were right about this spot. Call for reservations as they got pretty busy as I was finishing up my meal. Seems like a place that would be hard to get into for same day reservations during prime dinner hours.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of dining at Buzzetta’s Italian Café, let me just say this: you’re missing out on a slice of culinary heaven! My husband and I decided to celebrate our anniversary there last night during our trip to St. Louis, and boy, am I glad we did!

From the moment we walked in, it felt like stepping into a warm Italian hug. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming—like a family gathering where the secret ingredient is love (and maybe a drizzle of olive oil, too). Speaking of love, let’s talk about the food.

To say the meal was incredible would be like saying a Ferrari is “fast”—an understatement of epic proportions! The meatballs? Oh my goodness, I could have sworn they were sent from the heavens. The sauce had me dipping every last piece of bread like I was preparing for an Olympic event. And the chicken Parmesan? Let’s just say it made my heart (and stomach) sing.

But the real star of the evening was the Alfredo sauce. I’m still dreaming about it! If I had a nickel for every time I said “wow” while indulging my taste buds, I could probably pay for another meal there! Seriously, it was the kind of dish that makes you want to write sonnets about creamy deliciousness.

After our meal, the owner—who was just as charming as the setting—invited us back to meet the chef. Imagine this: a warm and sweet lady who pours her heart into every dish she creates. Meeting her was like receiving a heartfelt blessing. Her passion for cooking radiated in every bite we took.

This wasn’t just dinner; it was an experience we’ll cherish forever, especially on a day that meant so much to us. If you’re looking for authentic Sicilian cuisine that makes your mouth rejoice, do yourself a favor and visit Buzzetta’s Italian Café in Chesterfield, MO. You won’t just leave with a full stomach; you’ll leave with a heart full of joy!

Our server… I can’t remember his name… was OUTSTANDING. He was incredibly helpful in assisting us with making menu choices. He was authentic and SO much fun!

So grab your loved ones and head over—trust us, your taste buds will thank you!

Went for the first time tonight. Food was excellent but we had an unfortunate experience with Tony. He came to our table and suggested a wine that was at the “Popes inaugural”. He said I’ll give to you half off. We said sure! When he brought the bottle to the table he said $10 off! Whattt! We all heard him. Later when questioned he said I didn’t say that. Beware don’t fall for Tony! Waitress was lovely!

My husband and a friend of our had dinner at Buzzetta’s last Friday night. This is a beautiful cafe and the food is delicious. However, the service is severely lacking. Our server, Ava, never came back to check on us after taking our initial order. Had to ask other servers for items we needed, (parmesan cheese, refill on drinks, etc.). Did not come back to ask us if we wanted desert. Also had to ask several times for the check. I finally had to get up and go to the register at the bar and have someone else cash us out. I only left a 15% tip because of the bad service. If I calculated the tip based solely on the service, it would have been zero.
