We love it so much that we decided to have our wedding reception here! So if considering for any kind of private event, please read on…
We Highly recommend. We booked a private event in their Cupola Gallery and absolutely loved the entire experience. They allowed us to come in the evening before to add our own decorations, which we were so grateful for. We didn’t have time to decorate on the day of the event, and this meant we didn’t need to hire someone to do it for us.
They worked closely with us on our beverage menu and were happy to accommodate specific cocktails, as well as welcome drinks served to guests upon arrival. That level of flexibility and collaboration was so appreciated.
The food was phenomenal. We ordered three appetizers for a self-serve station–fried cauliflower, French fries, and Korean fried chicken–and all of them were outstanding. It tasted exactly as good as it does when dining in the restaurant. For dinner, we chose the three-course tasting menu from their event packet, with guest selections of miso salmon, NY steak, or vegetable pasta. The steak was incredibly tender, the salmon was perfectly cooked, and everything exceeded our expectations.
Dinner included a starter salad, and dessert was the third course. Instead of plated service, the cheesecakes were displayed on our dessert table alongside additional cakes we ordered for a self-serve dessert station. We ordered three quarter-sheet cakes–strawberry shortcake, lilikoi, and vanilla buttercream–and they were so delicious we honestly wish we had ordered more.
The staff was amazing throughout the event. Service was timely and thoughtful, and our main server, Crystal, was incredibly attentive to both us and our guests. Even though this is not a traditional wedding venue, we felt completely taken care of. For example, when the self-serve appetizers came out, they brought my husband and me our own pre-made plates to make sure we were eating too. They also packed up cakes in to-go boxes for us when our guests did the same, so we wouldn’t miss out. If a guest tried to order something not included on our menu, the staff was happy to accommodate–but always checked with us first.
We also want to give a huge shoutout to Joy, the sous chef and our main contact for the event. She was incredible from our very first emails through the night of the event. She was responsive, helpful, full of great ideas, and genuinely invested in making our night special. Many of the ideas she suggested were things we ended up using, and our event truly wouldn’t have been the same without her.
Our guests were talking about the food, drinks, and the space for days after the event. We were so extremely satisfied that we’re already talking about what other types of events we can host here–we’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.
If you’re considering a private dining event, rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, birthday party, or reunion, this is absolutely the place to do it. Incredible food, a beautiful space, and truly wonderful people.
Place was alright. It’s certainly very modern and contemporary, if that’s your thing, go for it. Personally, I find it incredibly tacky.
Service was pretty good, it did take longer for us though. We were seated by the window of the view of the street, by the time we wanted to order dessert, we felt forgotten.
Food was.. Okay. Like any other restuarant. Their wellington was not my favorite. Biting into the Steak had quite a bit of resistance, which is strange since from the surface, it looks very pretty and seemingly cooked perfect.
Not really worth it, but maybe it would impress a date with expensive, tacky taste.
It was my birthday. We made reservation well in advance and indicated that it was a birthday celebration. We didn’t get the seating we wanted. The server told us the tables were reserved but really no one sat there the entire time of our dinner. Seemed like they just didn’t want to clean off the special table for us. Fine…the “booth” seating was so awkward as you sink down in the seat and feel like a child at the table. The decor/furnishings were so random and nothing made any sense. (I have a degree in design) but okay cool. We nearly got need up leaving because the server (there was only one) took quite a while to get our order. Like a good 15mins.
The wine selection was fine, I liked the wine flight selection. We went with the Spain one and it was pretty good. I also like that all the dishes are shareable. The first dish we ordered were the mushrooms and they were actually pretty good. Simple but good. We also ordered the octopus which itself was great but the potatoes were sooooo salty that we couldn’t even eat them. When we got the steak gougere, it was also awful. I was excited to try the Gouda potato puffs but it was like eating a cotton ball. The steak pieces weren’t tender at all. So chewy.
When this was brought up to the server when they finally came to check on us, it was dismissed and hence why I’m writing this review. As someone in the service industry I know how tough it is to get bad reviews but I couldn’t let this go by. $97 later to get my comments dismissed is not okay. Luckily I am a server too and did still leave a tip, my partner did not want to at all.
Every single meal of the five course menu was beautifully presented and cooked perfectly. All the wine pairings were spot on and greatly complemented our meals. In addition, we had a great city view and felt very private in our unique tropical booth.
Last but not least, our waiter Stuart was awesome and there are very very few people in the profession like him. He’d got a trove of knowledge about food and wine and we enjoyed hearing his stories. If you come to eat at this restaurant, make sure he is your server – he will make your experience unforgettable.
Seating Arrangements. Theres lots of seating! Besides the bar area you walk past, theres the dining area where seats not only vary in looks, but decor as well. Some are comfy lounging chairs and some tables have dangling, human shaped chandeliers. Theres also seating near the huge windows that you can look out of and watch cars as they drive by.
Food and Drinks. There is a limited selection for non-alcoholic drinks, so I can’t wait to go back once I am 21. I also would like to point out that though my friend and I could not drink due to our age limitations, I had inquired our server if we could somehow get served some virgin drinks. Both times they agreed to serve us virgin mint mojitos. It was like a lemon-lime sour patch kids.
Price. Its very pricey, but completely worth the experience and the food! There were moments where I had thought I was full, but each time the next dish was brought out I’d get hungry all over again! This goes for my friends who have attended with me as well.
Overall, I believe the first time I went, I had a server named Stuart. Such a wonderful server that I’d love to have again. Not only did he answer my questions in great detail, but he also discussed other things I may like and went into detail about each dish. The second time I had gone, I had a different server. One a bit younger and he was also a great server. Besides checking in on us, he made a few jokes and took multiple pictures for us!
The food is wonderful, the atmosphere classy and unique. The service has been some of the best service I have ever been given. The only reasons I gave this restaurant 4 stars and not 5 stars were due to the food poisoning I caught on Valentines day and the hard coffee pie crust.
The Stage is a marvelous place to eat. The Stage and the staff will leave you with magnificent memories and an amazing experience!
