Great local bar, great music on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The parking lot is small but there’s plenty of street parking if you don’t mind walking a block or two. It’s right across from the military base. There are some ladies and younger people but the clientele is mostly older, blue collar-ish men with gray hair. Which is fine by me.

Great neighborhood tavern, and my Milwaukee relatives loved it, as it has the same atmosphere and vibe. The service was spectacular and the crowd friendly and inviting. Every visit, we are well taken care of – the bartenders are wonderful and make the evening something where you leave with a smile on your face.

Nice people who work there but, the place needs some serious cleaning and upkeep. Dive bars are ok.. but, there comes a point where a place becomes a dump. I’d hate to see that happen here. Please make improvements.

Tuesday nights are Open Jam nights. The music and Musicians were excellent – we stayed until 12Midnite.
Despite online info about having food – those listings are pre-covid(!) as the kitchen has been closed since.

absolute jerks- they would not take any of our real IDs and alleges that they required a second identification- like a passport. This is not required anywhere else i’ve ever been. They were very rude and kept us from our friends because of this rule- I understand wanting to keep the bar open but they let everyone else in except us and it felt weird.

Great dive bar for a late night drink. I haven’t had the food there so can’t rate it. There’s a small outdoor area that’s fun to hang out in. There’s a poop table and some dart board machines, and occasionally they have bands that play. Highly recommend for those looking for a drink after the rest of Highwood shuts down.

This is a very simple and modest bar. No frills, barstools don’t match, bathrooms are clean and functional but very old. Why five stars? Because no one is here for that. We come because the best musicians come here to jam. The bartender, Ray, is the best. He can really pour a drink. And everyone is there to enjoy a good drink, excellent live music and great comradery.

Was refused service even though the entire group was 21/22 years old. Told us we had to be 23+ to be served. Altogether the bartender (or maybe owner I’m not sure) was very rude. He’s very selective as to who he serves and seems to discriminate against anyone but the regulars. This should be considered a private club instead of a bar, they shouldn’t be afforded deductions for their expenses. Would give 0 stars if I could.

My friend and I showed up with real American ID’s yet that that wasn’t enough for them to let us in. They don’t allow out of state ID and they’re not nice about it.
