Visit January 2, 2026 – I typically stay at Renaissance properties when I travel internationally and loved the ones that I have stayed out. So on our last minute decision to go skiing, I picked this one in Asheville, NC.

The decor is nice and the their breakfast buffet is great and filling. They have your typical staples – eggs, bacon, fruit, biscuits/gray, and more, and even have a dedicated omelet bar/line.

To take full advantage of the breakfast, I would recommend adding the breakfast option to your room/stay. We also ate dinner their one night, but unfortunately they don’t offer room service but we were able to sit down eat and then order food to go to take to our room.

While staying in the Downtown Asheville Renaissance a group of us came here for breakfast each morning, I only attended once and that was plenty for me. The buffet has decent items on it, with the biscuits & gravy probably being the best. They have an omelet station too, which is nice, but the service we got one morning from our server was annoying. We were discussing work and she constantly interrupted for one reason or another.
The venue it bland too, very “hotel” looking. Coffee was decent though.

I can’t see any other reason to come here, unless you’re staying in this hotel though.

Had a wonderful breakfast this morning. Lora was top notch and brought milk out upon seeing my daughter grabbing cereal. Hashbrown casserole was amazing and I was impressed with what was offered on the buffet (lox and all the fixing).

Yes, there are many spots to eat in Asheville, but Renaissance caters to a lot of groups that do not have time to go to breakfast outside the hotel in the mornings. Also, I enjoyed breakfast as part of my Marriott Status.

We ate here the first morning after arriving at the Renaissance hotel because it was convenient. No menu for breakfast was available and the continental breakfast was unavailable. We were served eggs, hash browns, tater tots and bacon. The food was good but you would do better leaving the hotel and finding a cute place for breakfast or brunch in this eclectic town if you want more choices.

The breakfast buffet is overpriced. The dude at omelette station used too much oil. Pretty much ignored by staff. Was given warm water. They add a tip on the ticket then still expect another tip. Not to mention their kitchen gray is a90. Pastors had mold on them

Why would ANYONE choose to eat here?! On a 1-10 scale, the food is a 2. You are visiting a city renowned for its incredible food, most restaurants being a 7-10 in deliciousness and creativity, locally sourced and seasonal! Get out of the hotel and eat at one of the 100 incredible options within walking distance and have a truly great meal! Even the free breakfast is gross… it’s better to go and pay elsewhere. You only eat here if you are trapped by a blizzard or held captive by Godzilla…and haven’t eaten for days.

2 stars because the servers are very nice.

We were exhausted from eleven hours of traveling and decided to just eat at the hotel. We did not expect it to be absolutely delicious. The staff were polite and accommodating which we would expect. The menu selection was varied with chicken, seafood, and beef dishes. The Osso Bucco was wonderful. The meat fell off the bones into a rich sauce on a bed of perfectly cooked risotto. The portion size was large enough so my two companions could have a generous sample. You simply must order this dish when you visit this restaurant.

Pretzel bites were addictive. Lauren was a phenomenal server, quite attentive. The eggplant was crispy, and the sliders made my kiddo happy. Had a Thomas Wolfe drink sent from the bar, and enjoyed it. So convenient and tasty while staying at the hotel.

I went on a breakfast voucher. I was counting on them opening at 630am ready to go, but unfortunately only had a partial breakfast by 645am. The food was good though, and the staff friendly. They just need to be ready to operate at the hours they promise.
