The food is great the staff are friendly, but you can be certain that whenever you go there only one person will be at the counter. And that one person will be making sandwiches for people who aren’t even there yet, while walk in customers stand and wait for them to be done. Really crappy service model. If you want to be able to do pickup orders where there are 5 sandwiches needing all kinds of special stuff, you need to have one person focus on that and another working the front. If no one comes in then they can help with pickups. But under no condition should a restaurant which relies on a lot of walk by customers coming in make them sit there and watch them make sandwiches for people who aren’t even there yet. It just shows a certain cheapness of not wanting to have an extra person to do that, greediness in wanting to get every last dollar you can, and no focus on the customers who are there. Unfortunately it isn’t just an issue with this restaurant. It seems to be a virus that Safeway has where they think they can make more stuff and somehow have less employees.

Locked Out and Flipped Off — Disrespectful Experience at Subway (5050 WA-303)

On October 16, 2025, I arrived at this Subway location around 8:30 PM, well within their posted hours (signage said open until 9 PM). The door was locked with no explanation. After waiting, an employee emerged from the back—not to assist, but to make a middle finger gesture toward me through the glass.

I’ve never experienced anything so blatantly rude at a fast food establishment. If the store needed to close early, a simple sign or explanation would’ve sufficed. Instead, I was met with hostility and zero professionalism.

I hope management takes this seriously. Customers deserve basic respect, not obscene gestures.

Yesterday my husband and I decided to eat Subway. I usually avoid the Subway outside Fred Meyers, even if that means having to drive a couple of extra miles to get to the next one. Yesterday I made an exception; I had to pick up groceries from the store anyway.

I’ve never been super impressed with this Subway, mainly because of performance issues and past behavior of a couple of staff members, and more times than not, employees wouldn’t keep the tables clean.

Today, the employee that created my sandwich was friendly with a fun sense of humor, and he was extremely polite. I thought to myself; I’m in luck; I can start picking up sandwiches from this Subway! And then it happened, one of the other employees came off-break, one of the ones I was hoping to avoid but failed to do so, not because she’s been hostile to me yet, I honestly can say that she hasn’t targeted me in her rigid behavior. Still, I have seen her combativeness with other customers on a few different occasions in the past, including today, and I wonder how her behavior is tolerated by management.
It’s very disheartening to see someone with that much insolence.

Ok, moving on to the sandwich, I ordered a foot-long veggie patty on flatbread, no cheese, layered with a lot of fresh veggies, and topped with subway herb and garlic oil. Just so we are clear, Sixty percent of the sandwich was my husband’s, and forty was mine – I did not eat a full footlong, lol.
The sandwich was tasty; everything was fresh, no complaints about the sandwich at all.

Overall today, this Subway was clean; employees had a mask on, washed their hands, and wore their gloves.
The workstation was clean, with no noticeable messes, both employees looked clean, and the dining area, although no one was eating in, it appeared to be clean as well, probably because no one was dining in, lol.

This time is one of those situations where the rating is hard to do; if I could rate separately on certain things, I would rate her behavior as a one star.

This person refused me service as soon as they saw me. When I asked why they refused to give me a reason, and just said that it was Subway’s policy. When I asked to speak to a manager they claimed to be the only manager, and also refused to give me their name or the owners name. They were extremely rude from start to finish even before I had said anything.

This place is probably one of the worst subways I’ve ever been to they all have crappy attitudes you try and call the store to ask them a question and they answer the phone with a pissy tone saying what no hello or anything customer service is trash and if you are a regular and they don’t like you they give you attitude or seems like they have purposely messed up my sub. Your better off going to one of the other nearby subways

Ordered 2 subs online with double meat. Only 1 of the subs had the double meat I paid for. We didn’t get cheese on either one of them.

I ordered a 6 inch BMT, which includes 3 different meats: pepperoni, salami and Ham. Each of the meats is 3 paper thin slices. Maybe an ounce if lucky.

The price of $10.35 for the sub and small drink are insane. A couple of years ago the foot long with drink was cheaper and it was still over priced for what you get. Almost any other chain gives a better value.

Just came in because I’m waiting on a tire rotation at Discount Tire, across the parking lot.

As a separate issue: Apparently they don’t realize that “no bills over $20, accepted” is illegal. Subway builds the order prior to payment, creating a debt. By Federal law, all Federal Reserve Notes (often referred to as a “bill”) are “LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE”.

A gas station that requires cash pre-payment can refuse large bills because there is never a debt created.
