I was on my way back to Napa after seeing the Running of the Bulls, and thought I’d get some lunch. It was Pedro Gonzales Gonzales II that told me…”What ever you do, don’t leave Manteca without eating at El Mayita Tacos y Birria” So..here I am.
Let me say this…
Few things in life are worthy of being called “Life Changing” but, the Birria Quesatacos are just that. They are perhaps one of the best things you’ll ever eat, so amazingly delicious you’ll want them again and again, and El Mayita Tacos y Birria delivers the best of the best! ☆☆☆☆☆

I’ll start with what worked. I arrived at opening. I was the second person ordering. The seating area and restaurant were clean. Ordering was quick and efficient. It took 20 minutes for one bowl of menudo to be served.
These numbers are 0-5. I ordered menudo. The broth was about a 3.75, good but missing that authentic flavor one wants. The tripe was about a 4. Tender but missing infused flavor from the broth. I ordered flour tortillas, a 0 out of 5. I was given 3 store bought flour tortillas. The first one was semi warm and hard, obviously an old tortilla. The other 2 were semi warm and soft, obviously not from yesterday. The photo shows the hard tortilla that I couldn’t eat.
Tried it once. Won’t return. The willingness to cut corners with a 10 cent old flour tortilla gives pause to what else is going on back in the kitchen.

Hey you!! Yea..you. The one reading this review trying to decide whether they want to try out this place. Let me tell you a secret….The food here is absolutely DELICIOUS!!! The quesatacos with the dip..omg amazing!!! I only ordered 2 I should’ve got more!!! The steak burrito was also bomb!!! Just the right size and so flavorful. Oh wait I can’t forget about the horchata this place had one of thee best if not The best horchata I’ve had in a while. This is my new go to spot, it might be yours too.

This is the first time my wife and I have gone here and it’s our new town favorite! I got an al pastor super burrito, she got the birria ramen. Both were big enough to last for two meals at a great price, and the flavor was exceptional! Looking forward to coming here more and trying everything on the menu!

Our fist time here (me & my 2 kids), the reason why I did not give 5 ⭐️ is because I asked my eggs over easy and this is what a got,(seepicture)Flavor is so good. Chilaquiles are no the best but good too, 4/5 for that, meat is soo soft and what I ordered was much so I did not finish. The horchata was soooo good too. I will come back to try something else.

I found the best hidden gem in Manteca for Mexican food I used to go to the food truck they had in Stockton , so glad I have it close to home the service was amazing and the food was 10/10 I got a chorizo breakfast burrito it was so fresh the tortilla tasted home made all the salsa were amazing! They have handmade tortillas on the weekend with menudo and pozole will definitely be back !!

This place is awesome. There are so many Mexican restaurants in Manteca, but this one stands out from the rest. We had the super nachos, wet burritos, and torta. All were excellent and would order again. Came back for breakfast and had great chilaquiles

Stopped by here after reading reviews and this place is legit! Best burrito I’ve had in Manteca by far. Massive, delicious asada in every bite, and the price was on par with every other spot in town. Their tacos are a little pricier than other places, but they pack them with so much meat it feels like a great value for the price. Very generous portions and the people were great too! Will absolutely be coming back to try more delicious meats.
