Stopped into Bar Pazzo on a whim with no reservation and they were super accommodating and got my wife and me seated right away.
She started with one of their specialty cocktails, which was great, and I had a glass of Super Tuscan wine. We shared the eggplant appetizer and it was fantastic. Also had a beet salad and a Caesar — both were fresh and really well done.
The calzone special was the star of the night. Light dough, tons of flavor, and honestly great from first bite to last. We also split the Row 7 Honeypatch capelletti, which was excellent as well.
Great food, great drinks, and great service all around. Thanks for a really nice night — we’ll definitely be back.

Our first visit was with friends who highly recommended it since we were still fairly new to the area and looking for great places to eat, and it absolutely lived up to the hype.

The honey whipped ricotta was unforgettable. It was so good that I’ve tried to recreate it at home multiple times, and it never compares to theirs. The place gets very busy, so making a reservation is definitely the way to go if you want the full experience without the wait. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and a place we’re always happy to return to.

Great local italian restaurant in the downtown area. It’s pretty popular so be sure to make a reservation ahead. Randomly, you can find empty seats by the wood fire pizza station. We don’t mind and the hosts always ask in case as it isn’t a regular table. You can see all the kitchen action and pizza making skills while dining. Terrific service by my server JP. He set us up with a wine bottle and the bikini bottom pizza which is always delicious. There is also a gelato/coffee section near the entrance located by the bar. They do have a room with a big table in case you’re looking for a more private dinner. However, you still feel like you are in the restaurant part of the crowd as it is enclosed by glass. There is a section to hang coats. Definitely try the whipped ricotta!

A true treat to have eaten here! The food was absolutely incredibly, so much so that we decided to get dessert. We ordered several plates to share and the best one had to be the whipped ricotta and the Bronx Boxer pizza. The pistachio gelato was AMAZING. The staff were attentive, very nice and the entire restaurant had a very elevated vibe. I will definitely come back again when I’m in back in town!!

I’d like to share my recent experience where friends and I gathered for dinner. We ordered a range of items including beverages and starters, and at no point were we advised that our table was only available for 1 hour and 15 minutes due to another reservation. Advance notice of such a constraint would have influenced our decision to dine there, as we would have preferred a more relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately, the staff only notified us that we needed to vacate the table when we were halfway through our meal, citing an upcoming event. Both the owner and the server exhibited rude behavior.

I come here about once a month with my boyfriend for date night, the pizzas are to die for! Its some of the closest pizza to New Jersey style that we can find. The cocktails are alright, just make sure you know what you are ordering because sometimes the bartender doesn’t understand. We always get 3 pizzas, the duck wings, the whipped ricotta, and the chefs board. Its all delicious!

Went back in june with my bf and got some new things, the apricots, the new carbonara pizza, and we had one of their specials lamb over long wide flat noddles.. We discovered that we don’t like apricots, but nothing against the dish just personal preference. The pizza was good with the egg yolk but really filling. We weren’t fans of the lamb, we felt that the dish was missing a flavor and was just too savory for us. Everything else we had including the drinks were awesome!

My family was passing through Scranton and after a day on the road, pizza was much needed for sustenance. Bar Pazzo was the right choice for our meal. Located in downtown Scranton, the welcoming and friendly staff took our orders and promptly, all four of us had our pies. Pictured here is a classic pepperoni pizza called the Scrantonian with plenty of salty spice from the meat, balanced well with cheese, stand-out sauce and perfectly charred on top. The secret star of this pie was fresh Oregano, not sprinkled on top as is the usual presentation but purposely placed under the cheese so that the flavor was allowed to build in the oven’s heat. I was impressed by the two large wood-fired ovens that were putting in work that night, and I look forward to another stop here in the future.

Bar Pazzo offers an incredible dining experience with its amazing food and creative offerings. The specials are always exciting, and I love the open kitchen concept where you can see the chef and cooks craft your pizza and meals—such a fun and engaging touch. Their wine selection is phenomenal, perfectly complementing the flavors. Be sure to end your night with their delicious homemade gelato; it’s the perfect sweet finish!
