My husband and I finally tried Homeboyz Fried Chicken and Fish today!
I got the dark meat chicken dinner with Mac n cheese and cabbage and my husband got the Homeboyz special with two pieces of fish and potatoes with onion drippings.
Soooo delicious!!!
I think our favorite thing was the taste of putting the fish, potatoes, and onion drippings all in one bite! So much flavor
They also gave us some free dessert, which we still need to try later tonight!
The gentleman working there was so nice and friendly He talked to us right away when we walked in and he explained what they had on the menu. Great customer service
Go ahead and check them out! The entrees are made fresh, so best to call ahead so they can start cooking. Very limited seating, so plan to carry out.

This is my first time here but won’t be my last. Wonderful staff – very friendly and they don’t cook the chicken and fish until you order it. The food is delicious and you can tell it’s homemade. Highly recommend! I got the deluxe meal which has fish and chicken, with two sides (mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese)

If you want down home cooking, the real deal- come visit this little dinner. Some of the options available are chicken, fish, greens, Mac and cheese, cabbage, corn bread, rolls, and much more! All made from scratch! Peach Cobbler, Sweet Potato Pie and Caramel Cake! The restaurant is named after the owner’s father. This was my first visit it and the food was so much more than I expected. Made me think I don’t know how to cook! It’s small, usually carry out, but there is some indoor seating available and a table outside. It’s a hidden gem nestled on a corner!

The price may seem a little high at first but when you get your food, they give large servings and the food is wonderful. I have to say the people are great as well. They are very friendly and make you feel like family. I can’t say enough about them. Well worth a trip. We make about a 2 hour drive to go there to eat. I think that says a lot about them.

I ordered with high hopes because of the good reviews…got the ultimate plate that included fish and tenders, mac n cheese, and cabbage. My tenders and fish were SQUISHY and tasted like they been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time. Tenders were so dried out and thought the mac n cheese would be a nice homestyle baked mac n cheese, but it was kind of sour, maybe the cabbage juice mixed into it or something. For almost paying $40 for 2 ultimate meals, I expected so much more quality than what I received.

What’s not to like? Fresh home cooking, friendly folks, and past Ivy Tech students (I, of course, had to throw that one in there). Grab a meal to go and enjoy at the park, home, or back at the office. The chicken is made while you wait and will still be hot when you get to your destination. Thanks, Theresa for an excellent meal!
