We recently dined here and ordered Pad Thai, Papaya Salad, and a spicy soup (Tom Zap). Overall, the food was okay, but since we are Thai, we came in with a certain level of expectation about the flavors and authenticity. The Pad Thai was a little too sweet for our taste, which made it feel slightly off from what we’re used to. The Papaya Salad, on the other hand, was quite good—fresh, tangy, and nicely balanced, which we really enjoyed.
As for the soup, we were expecting Tom Zap, which usually has a distinctive roasted rice flavor that gives it a unique texture and aroma. Instead, the soup we received tasted more like a Tom Yum, so it felt like we may have gotten the wrong dish. That was a little disappointing since we were looking forward to that specific flavor profile.
One highlight of our experience, however, was the service. Our waitress was wonderful—very friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made the dining experience more enjoyable despite our mixed feelings about the food.
Overall, while there were some enjoyable aspects to the meal, a few details didn’t quite meet our expectations. We’re not entirely sure if we’ll return, but we do appreciate the warm service and the effort put into the food.

I was disappointed in the meal honestly. I saw some of the reviews but still wanted to give it a try. The Pad Kee Mao was more spice than actual flavor itself. Lackluster on the veggies inside of it. The spring rolls were very small, but wasn’t too bad. The Thai Iced Coffee was really good though. The gentleman that served me was really nice, but the food itself wasn’t that good.

My take out was okay but I was disappointed by the taste. Everything felt bland and lacked flavor development beyond warm oil and a suspended taste of soy and sugar.
Portion sizes were okay. The entrees were not huge but very filling. The Pad See Ew noodles were too soft (could mush them with just my tongue and no teeth) and the crispy pork was almost all fat or skin, so there was little texture. Good balance of vegetables that tasted fresh. The Khao Pad Ka Praow was ordered “regular” but didn’t taste spicy or seasoned at all. There were clumps of unmixed rice that were hard and tasted old. Lots of vegetables with a healthy variety, but still under seasoned and bland.
I would not order either dish again but will try Chon Tong again to get different dishes with a little more spice added.

Visited on a weekday night. Seated right away and there were only 2 other tables that were occupied. Service was very slow and inefficient. Food took quite a while to come out even with so little business. We ordered the chicken larb, corn salad, and chicken khao soi. The food is mediocre at best. There was a lack of flavor and spice across the dishes which is especially disappointing for a Thai restaurant. They also told us after our food came out that one of the dishes we ordered (fried jackfruit cold salad) was unavailable. They also closed the kitchen 3 hours early. The best thing we ordered was the mango sticky rice. There are better Thai places in center city. We will not be returning.

The food is amazing! They have so many authentic flavorful Thai menu that I can spend years to try all. Taste could be a little strong but the balance was perfect in sweet, sour, and spicy trinity. Their atmosphere is just calm enough and water cups are actually very interesting. The food was not very cheap but definitely you should try.

Delicious food. I had been craving grilled river prawns as I’ve been away from home for long. This grilled prawn didn’t disappoint me at all. It’s side is for appetizer (of course, big ones, like 2 prawns per kg, already cost 100 USD in Thailand). I also ordered noodle salad with crispy pork. The portion was huge. I was too full crawling back to the hotel. Oh, you must order coconut juice. It tasted like one in Thailand. Staff are friendly and attentive. The cooker said hi to me as she saw me Thai as well. I appreciate it.

I highly recommend their chicken pho! It was so soothing, clear and tasty. Their dessert was freshly made and delicious ! I saw people getting steak and hot pot there so I’d try them next time. The service is very friendly here.

This was one of the most disappointing Thai food experiences I’ve had. I ordered tofu drunken noodles and it was unlike any other order of drunken noodles I’ve had. The noodles were oddly pale, did not have much flavor, and there were soggy frozen vegetables dispersed throughout. The tofu was not flavorful and tasted raw. I would not recommend this place and do not plan to return.

This place is great! The pineapple fried rice is my favorite, so tasty and is portioned well. It’s a nice spot to grab a quick lunch, get dinner on the way home, their to-go is convenient, and the place is spotless. Most importantly, it’s a family business. They have a great variety of food and Thai tea options, support local and get your next meal here! 🙂
