First time eating here today. Came in and got take out, and got a 5 piece chicken tender combo. I wanted extra fries as a substitute for coleslaw. Got to my vehicle and I barely 5 chicken tenders. They could’ve threw and extra to make up for the small ones..or maybe give out 5 decent sized tenders! Also I seemed short handed on extra fries I ordered. Food was ok but portions need to be better to complement the price . Moral of the story..don’t shorthand customers!

Guthrie’s please do better. I don’t know who the manager is here but when someone orders a four piece, can we at least give them four pieces. The girl at the window didn’t even care. She acted like I was a nuisance for asking for another piece and then told me I had to wait 10 minutes for the next batch of chicken to go down.

This was my first time ever in this restaurant! And OMG…in my book you beat Chick Fil A, Zaxby’s and Zacadoo’s. I had fried chicken fingers and it was very tasty. Moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside; what a flavor!! The fires were also Hot and GOOD! The store was busy inside as well the drive through. The employees were very nice and helpful. The bathroom was clean! Nice parking space, BUT leaving the restaurant at the stop sign can be a challenge if you are turning left! This interception it is always busy. I wish I had this restaurant in my home town!

I was in the mood for some chicken so I drop in on the Gutherie’s in Opelika, on highway 280 toward Columbus, GA. I was shock back the lack of options on the menu but I assumed it meant that they perfected the items they serve. The chicken was delicious, specially with the side of Texas toast. The box meal comes with 5 chicken fingers, fries, toast, slaw, and Gutherie’s custom sauce. I would have preferred barbecue sauce but it would have been an extra charge. The staff was friendly and the entire restaurant was extremely clean and neat, perfect for relaxing and enjoying your food. If you have found this review helpful, please like and share the review. I was visiting and needed to stop and eat. The food was fresh. Perfectly fried chicken tenders. It’s true to its name…fried chicken tenders and french fries. No sandwiches, no variety of sauces, just Guthries signature sauce. Fresh and clean. If in need of a quick meal, would eat there again.

After getting bad service, overpriced food, I also figured out that everybody is paying a lot more HERE than their competitors. Apples to Apples $5.09 more for exact same food plate with drink.
1st thing I noticed at the drive through was only combos were offered. When I tried to place orders without drinks, they really messed up and overcharged me more. Fingers and Fries were good, the reason for 2 stars but after comparing the 6 finger combo to a 7 finger combo at a competitor I was shocked as to how much more they charged for less food. Got only 1 little napkin for each plate, and no catsup for fries in a drive through, where I should have asked (not them asking me) in advance with order. Drive through customers deserve even better care than inside dining, due to the inconvenience of not getting what you need and pay for when you leave the window.
The image I am sharing shows my calculations, where I added a finger and a sauce to Guthries, to match the competition. The competitor I added the same drink because they don’t try and force you to pay 400 to 500% more for a beverage. So when it comes to customer food cost on this plate, you will pay 40% more from Guthries, vs a competitor in the area. I also just checked the google reviews for both establishments and Guthries at 3.9 vs 4.7 at foo.

I love fried chicken; it’s my love language. Been wanting to try this. Ordered fingers as it easy to drive and handle. Wasn’t impressed enough to want to come back. Not saying g it was bad, just meh.

Way overpriced for what you get. Never have eaten at Guthries so when I paid for my order I assumed it would be more than this meal gave to me.
I paid 13.07 for this. Chicken tenders are tiny. The coleslaw also a very small serving and was bubbling like it was fermenting or spoiled. Never again!
