We have the biggest selection of spirits, with over 300 whiskeys, bourbons, & scotches. We offer a variety of craft beers made in-house. Our hand-crafted menu includes pretzels, chips and dip, burgers, and more. We are the largest bar in downtown Carbondale, Illinois. We have two pool tables, a foosball table, a hunting arcade game, slots, a jukebox, and free games for the kids. The place where friends meet friends. for every occasion… or no occasion at all.

This is my go-to for delicious food and a great experience! The vibe is mellow and everyone I meet here is super friendly. Dan is the owner and I hope you get the opportunity to meet him, because he is a wonderful person! You can usually find him at one of the bars inside.
The food is not your typical bar food; there is a lot of thought put into their menu. The hummus is an absolute must! They change their menu a lot, but the hummus has been a mainstay since I started visiting in 2022. It is delicious!
There’s shuffleboard and giant jenga and sprawling couches and arcade games..this place has it all!
Every single employee that I’ve met at Buckwater has been super accommodating and friendly. I keep coming back because I am treated like family here! Thank you for an amazing experience!

It was pretty loud. While they have plenty of tables, there are no servers. You have to order from from the bar and then they can give you a number for that order. They have decently good food, but the prices are high for what you get. The four of us got burgers and sodas and the total was about $90 before tip.
The bartender who helped us was great, but the overall cost and atmosphere were big turn offs.

Food was excellent! Service great as well. Our waitress was very informative. It was our first time there. It was a very pleasant experience and I’m certain we’ll be back. Our drive was at least an hour and half to get there. Well worth the drive. They also had a great beer list.

There is no table service; you order your food from a bartender, get a #, and your food is brought out to the table you choose.. the fries were really good, price reasonable, and the staff was friendly. The only negative to be aware of is the very narrow parking lane next to the building making handicap parking shameful!!

Well we found a super fun hot spot. It was Bingo night which was super interactive and fun. We can’t wait to bring in town guests here. Great vibe and lots of thought put into gaming (slots, billiards, etc.) craft beer, daily specials and menu for pretty much every taste… #greathangout. Staff were friendly and engaged with guests, this is HUGE these days!! You are sure to enjoy. We ordered wings and Murphyboro pale ale – delicious!

Wow wow wow !! Went on a Saturday and got the rib special. Blew my girlfriend and I away ! The smoked potato salad perfectly complements the delicious sauce that they put on the ribs. Good vibes and nice bartenders.

Cute little brewery. Food is interesting but just okay. My onion tower was pretty cold when I got it but quality was fair. Large selection of whiskey, draft beers were meh. Couldn’t tell if they were made by buckwater or not, they didn’t taste craft at all. Drinks were priced pretty fair for the area.
Vibe is pretty weird. It’s clearly decorated from hobby lobby. The music was very off tone for the evening of maybe 10 people in the whole building. Also someone behind the bar was constantly changing tracks and adjust volume which I found incredibly annoying.
Ambiance is chill but refined. At closer inspection, needs some improvement to finer details like table service and food freshness.
